Danzo had the fight in his hands

Anyone else notice how Danzo should have won the fight when he had Sasuke under the curse mark. Seriously he had the win right in his hands but tempting Sasuke sealed his fate, had he reacted quickly Sasuke would be dead before he turned on Susano.

I say it was for plot purposes that he let Sasuke go. Earlier he had tried to kill him quickly and not bait him.
