By your rules, Danzo and Itachi may be a good shinobi but in terms of sacrifice, almost every ninja in Hidden leaf has some sorts of sorrow to boast about their sacrifice or their families' sacrifices.
Such as Obito would have sacrificed everything just to save his team mates and even his village if not tricked by Madara and Zetsu. Then, what about Uchiha Shisui sacrificing his own life on his own just to show Itachi what it means to sacrifice for the goodness and the peace of the Village.
Sandaime, Yondaime sealed themselves in the stomach of Death God just ensure the peace of the Village.
If you argue on the term of sacrifice, there are several shinobi who were ready to sacrifice themselves in order to keep the Village safe and sound and they didn't have to choose dark path in every case as Danzo thought.
But Naruto is still able to withheld his motto and never regrets his actions.
Whether, Itachi admits that he did do some faults and Danzo also realized the meaning of Sandaime's philosophy just before he had died which is somewhat equivalent to acknowledge the teaching of the Will of the Fire.
So, I think, though Danzo and Itachi are good shinobi in terms of sacrifice and sticking to their original mottos, they are not the best!
