Basic Information
Name: Shimura Danzō | 志村ダンゾウ
Nickname: The Darkness of Shinobi | 忍の闇

Looks: Danzo is an elderly man but despite his age he has deep black hair and looks relatively young. He wears bandaging over his right eye which conceals a sharingan he took from the deceased body of Uchiha Shisui. On his chin he has an X-shaped scar that he appears to have gotten at some point during his youth. This sharingan is often bloodshot and Danzo has said he needed Orochimaru's help with it, suggesting there may have been something wrong with it, though this is never followed up with an explanation. Danzo also keeps his right arm covered by a black robe. Under the black robe he wears a whitish-blue shirt. He also walks with a cane most of the time. Under the robe on his right arm he wears a sealing apparatus that is made of metal and has several bolts. It takes some time for him to remove this but when he does he reveals an arm that is riddled with numerous sharingan. These eyes were most likely taken from the dead bodies of the Uchiha clan massacre. Also on his right shoulder is the what appears to be a facial pattern. The origin of the face is unknown but is almost certainly related to either Shisui Uchiha or Hashirama Senju.
Personality: During his younger days Danzo was shown to have a prideful personality though he lacked the bravery to do what he thought a true shinobi should do. While on a mission with the second Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi and several other team members they were put in a situation where one would need to stay behind and most likely be killed. Danzo wanted to volunteer as he felt that it would be an honorable way to die. But his body locked up. Fear kept him from volunteering himself and as he struggled to muster up the courage, his rival Hiruzen Sarutobi stole his thunder. Hiruzen bravely volunteered with no hint of fear.
As an older man Danzo became much more cool and collected. Despite the dark nature of his actions he held the safety of Konoha as one of his primary goals. He believed in doing whatever was necessary for the overall safety and peace of Konoha, even if this meant the sacrifice of many people. During the Pain invasion he and his ROOT ninja remained below ground as Pain ravaged the village above. His hopes were that Pain could weaken Konoha enough so that he could swoop in remove Tsunade from power, naming himself Hokage. Though this seemed like an evil plan his actions, in his mind, were justified. Danzo felt that Tsunade was too soft and that under her leadership Konoha was destined to fail. So he took it on himself to remove her from power.

Background Info.
History: As a younger shinobi Danzo was seen with a group of
seven ninja that included himself, Tobirama Senju, Hiruzen Sarutobi, the two village elders, a member of the Akimichi clan and an Uchiha. This group was shown during a flashback in which they were surrounded by a group of Kumogakure master bountry hunters. The group decided that one of them had to distract the bounty hunters while the rest of the group fled. The one who stayed behind would undoubtably be killed. Danzo wanted to volunteer but couldn't bring himself to do it. He wanted to die a shinobi's death but was frozen by fear. Hiruzen then volunteered instead without a hint of fear. Danzo and Hiruzen were life long rivals in a similar way that Naruto and Sasuke are. They were polar opposites in philosophy but still seemed to be close friends. Danzo felt he was always one step behind Hiruzen. But even though Hiruzen volunteered he didn't stay behind. Tobirama instead chose himself to stay behind, naming Hiruzen to succeed him as Hokage before he left.Through the years Danzo increased in power and eventually became to leader of an offshoot of ANBU called ROOT. This group was extremely secretive going as far as to put a seal on the tongue of all its members which would paralyze them in the event of them speaking about ROOT. Danzo trained the members to ignore their emotions and carry out their missions no matter what. He used ROOT to carry out many covert operations, many of which weren't even known by the hokage. At one point he teamed with with Hanzo the Salamander in an attempt to kill Yahiko, Nagato and Konan. They were able to kill Yahiko but were forced to retreat by an enraged Nagato who summoned Gedo Maze and killed much of their forces.
One of the biggest impacts Danzo had was during the events leading up to the Uchiha massacre. The Uchiha clan had become disgruntled with the village through a long series of events reaching back to the foundations of the hidden leaf. They had began to plan a revolt against the village, but they had a spy in their midst. Danzo was using Itachi Uchiha to gather information from within the clan. As the situation became worse Danzo wanted to pull the plug and exterminate the Uchiha clan. His lifelong rival Hiruzen Sarutobi however didn't want this. He believed the situation could be resolved through diplomacy instead of violence. Danzo disagreed with this and went behind Sarutobi's back and ordered Itachi to kill the clan.
Danzo was later the one who ordered Sai to join team Seven to replace Sasuke. The plan was to have Sai go to Orochimaru and claim that Danzo wanted to team up and destroy Konoha. This was just a ploy however. The real plan was to have Sai infiltrate Orochimaru's hideout and assassinate Sasuke. Its unknown if this plan was known by the hokage or either of the village elders. Ultimately the plan failed and Sai became attached to team Seven. He began experiencing emotions that he didn't feel as a member of ROOT. Danzo told him that emotions led to hate and hate led to war, but allowed him to remain a member of team seven.
During Pain's invasion of Konoha Tsunade wanted to summon Naruto back to the village in order to give Konoha some more fire power. Danzo vehemently disagreed with this because Naruto was the Akatsuki's goal. Tsunade tried to send a messenger toad to Mt. Myobokuzan to bring Naruto back, but before the toad could leave Danzo killed it. As Pain destroyed the village Danzo and his ROOT members remained below ground in hiding. He ordered his troops to remain there and not aid in the defense of the village. His plan was for Pain to weaken the village and remove Tsunade from power. After that Danzo would take control of the village and name himself Hokage.
During Pain's assault Tsunade fell into a coma due to expending her chakra too far in an attempt to heal numerous people within the village. After Pain was defeated by Naruto the fire Daimyo held a meeting with many high ranking members of Konoha to elect a new Hokage. Danzo attended the meeting and blamed the fall of Konoha on the weakness of Sarutobi and Tsunade when it came to military issues. In the end Danzo was named the sixth Hokage. Its unknown if this was because the Daimyo bought his reasoning or because he was being controlled by Shisui's mind control technique.
Shortly after Pain's invasion of Konoha a meeting was called between the Kages of the five main shinobi villages. Being the newly elected Hokage, Danzo attended the meeting. Each Kage was allowed to bring two bodyguards. Danzo chose to bring two men by the names Fu and Torune. He considered these two to be two of his best members of ROOT. On the way to the Kage summit they were followed by numerous assassins. But using his sharingan Danzo was easily able to dispatch the attackers single handedly. At the meeting the Kages decided to join forces in order to fight against the Akatsuki group. When trying to discus which Kage would lead the forces Danzo used his mind control technique to control Mifune, the leader of the Iron Country. He used the technique to have Mifune nominate Danzo to be the head of the joint forces. This however was seen through by one of the Mizukage's bodyguards Ao due to a stolen byakugan which allowed him to recognize the chakra of Shisui Uchiha in Danzo's left eye. After this point Danzo was no longer trusted by the rest of the Kages and his plans were ruined.
Later during the meeting they were interrupted when Zetsu appeared out of the floor. He notified the Kages that Sasuke Uchiha was in the building. This enraged the Raikage who then set off in search of Sasuke. The Raikage eventually found him and began to battle him. During this battle Danzo planned his escape as the rest of the Kages and their bodyguards were keeping an eye on him. When Sasuke finally reached the meeting room a battle ensued between Sasuke and some of the others. During this commotion Danzo took the opportunity to flee the summit. Before Sasuke could be killed he was rescued by Uchiha Madara and brought before the fleeing Danzo. By now Sasuke had learned the truth behind the Uchiha Massacre and wanted revenge against Danzo. They began to battle.
As the battle commenced Sasuke questioned Danzo about the Uchiha Massacre. Danzo confirmed what Sasuke had learned and spoke poorly of Itachi's failure to kill his little brother. Danzo uttering the very name of Itachi caused Sasuke to be enraged. Sasuke used an arm of Susanoo to crush Danzo. Just as Sasuke thought he had exacted his revenge, Danzo appeared unharmed behind him. The trick behind Danzo's appearance was a technique called Izanagi. It was a technique within the Uchiha clan that had become forbidden. It made illusion into reality, allowing the user to escape death. The cost of the technique was that the eye used would be forever closed. Danzo was able to use this technique with little side effects due to his arm which was covered in sharingans.
Throughout the battle it seemed that Danzo had the upper hand. He showed
a proficient use of wind techniques, great use of the sharingan, and a summon called the Baku which sucked up everything before it. Danzo continued to mocked Sasuke and speak of Itachi causing Sasuke's anger to rise. Danzo's available eyes to use for Izanagi began to dwindle and eventually he was down to one. He and Sasuke hit each other in one final clash using chakra natured blades and piercing each other. Danzo believed that he had won the battle and told Sasuke to go and join Itachi. But to his surprise the one eye he had remaining was a mere illusion due to a genjutsu cast by Sasuke. Danzo was badly injured in the exchange and began to weaken. Seeing that his death was imminent Danzo utilized Izanagi once more with a hidden eye he saved for just this type of situation. He used this final illusion to escape the battle with his life.Danzo successfully tricked Sasuke with his use of Izanagi and fled the battle. However he was badly injured and no longer had the trust of Konoha. Thus, Danzo's brief stint as Hokage came to an end and he was forced back into the shadows. As Danzo waited in the shadows, an enemy opened the door for him to rise to power. Akatsuki had grown strong acquiring numerous legendary shinobi. Their first target, Konoha. The battle was short and devastating. The village hadn't seen such destruction since the attack Pain had launched years ago. However this time it didn't end with the revival of all those killed. Konoha had been destroyed. Its members fled or were killed, and the Hokage had gone missing. Seeing the opportunity to achieve his life long goal, Danzo returned to the ruined village and took control, renaming himself the Rokudaime Hokage.
Sadly, his plans for Konoha failed. While he managed to rebuild the village into a formidable force, it was still weak when compared to the rest of the ninja world. As a result the Supreme Ruler of the World, Nexus, removed Danzo from power. There was little Danzo could do against the famed Torturing Eye of Nexus, and thus he requited the title of Hokage once again. However he did gain access to Nexus' medical school where he is currently learning the medical arts. Danzo now pledges his loyalty to Izuna Uchiha, the Nidaime Hokage of Konoha. Behind this loyalty, Danzo waits for his opportunity to once again gain control of the village so he can protect it in a way he sees fit.
Other
Sharingan: Even though he was not a member of the Uchiha clan Danzo was shown to be more than proficient with that sharingan. On his way to the Kage summit he was being tracked by numerous assassins. Danzo was able to spot these assassins and take them out easily. Danzo is also able to use a special dojutsu of Shisui's eye which allowed him to control the mind of someone else without their knowledge. This was only usable once a day however. Due to the sheer number of sharingan he possessed Danzo was also able to use the forbidden Uchiha technique of Izanagi. Currently 2 tomoe.
Wood Release: Danzo was able to implant cells from Hashirama Senju into his right arm with the help of Orochimaru. Theses cells allowed him to use wood release techniques. The extent of his wood jutsu was not seen though as it took a lot of chakra to use so he chose to only use it as a last resort. When his chakra levels dropped too low he lost the ability to control the cells and had to remove his right arm which then turned into a tree. Currently in training.
Enhanced Physical Ability: Danzo's speed and strength were enhanced by Orochimaru through experimentation. This was done at the same time that he received Hashirama's cells. With this strength he was able to send Karin flying with a simple kick.
Fuuinjutsu: Danzo showed himself to be extremely talented with the use of sealing jutsu. All members of Root were fitted with a seal on their tongue that paralyzed them if they spoke anything about Danzo or Root. He was able to place a high level binding seal on Sasuke in a split second through mere physical contact. He placed a reverse four symbols seal on his own body that in the event of his death creates a sphere around himself that seals everything within it in his own body. Currently in training.
Gear: Danzo carries the typical ninja weapons including kunai, shuriken, explosive tags, flash bangs, scrolls, etc. He also has a pouch filled with marshmallows used for marshmallow release techniques and carries the weapon Ouroboros on his back and a tanto on his left hip.
