Basic Information

Name: Danjou Uchiha | Danjou Koga
Nickname: Ojii-sama
Gender: Male
Age: 74
Clan: Uchiha

Looks:

As a Child

The years have certainly not been kind to Danjou in terms of his aging. Where, in his youth, he once glowed as a man with an overshadowing stature, appearing strong and full of energy, Danjou’s current appearance has him looking rather old and feeble, at least under the cloak of his illusion.

Danjou’s appearance as a child reflected the pride and strength of his noble Uchiha clan. He tended to be very serious in his expressions and rarely spoke. When he did speak he was firm, his voice matching the general scowling expression he had. For most of his childhood though Danjou had short black hair, his front bangs never passing past his chin. His hair was longer in the back, however he kept it tied in a bun. Unlike most Uchihas, however, Danjou had a lighter shade of eyes. His eyes had somewhat of an amber like glow to them but inevitably were still rather dark. It is believed to be a trait he received from his mother who was not a native to the Uchiha Clan. Like most Uchiha back in the days before the founding of the great villages, he often wore traditional style Uchiha robes with the insignia of the clan printed on the back.

Being born in the era of constant war before the founding of the Great Nations, Danjou experienced the life of a shinobi at an incredibly early age in his life. On the battle front, he wore, what was the general attire for Uchiha, red samurai like metal armor with the Uchiha insignia around the neck guard. Underneath, he’d generally have the lose fitting black suit with chainmail underneath.

Though Danjou’s appearance was rigid as a child, he had times when he actually looked like a normal child, laughing, and playing and being cheerful. For the most part it was his mother and siblings who saw this side of him, outside the realm of the strict shinobi world he lived. However, once Danjou’s mother left with his sister, those cheerful expressions left him for years to come.

It wasn’t until Danjou had met a girl by the name of Ogen that his cheerful and happy mannerisms would return. When the Senju and Uchiha clans called a truce and Konohagakure had been established; so too was the establishment of a person who was no longer rigid with the look of hateful pride.

As an Adult

In his teenage and adult years, Danjou had matured physically and became a man with a fiercely dependable appearance. As a shinobi with much experience, his experienced blossomed into wisdom and strength that kept him composed for the most part. Though, growing up within his strict environment, his most natural expression was an intimidating one. Amongst friends and family though, he has shown gentle, compassionate, and often enough comedic expressions. As an adult, his eyes became darker, entirely concealing the amber he once had as a child. It is ironic, as the one trait he had of his mother left just as she did. Danjou also grew his hair out where it reached down the middle of his back when down. Though, with his hair, Danjou kept it up in a ponytail extended out so that it wouldn’t pass the base of his neck. His bangs became longer around shoulder length and his eyebrows were thicker. His physique was very developed and toned. He had broad shoulders and, even though he wasn’t insanely tall, his general being projected itself over most.

Shroud of the Feeble

From years of stress; caused by the monuments of pain and suffering in his life, after leaving Konoha Danjou’s appearance began to deteriorate more and more year by year. Even though he is now in his 70’s the wrinkles and his general outwardly appearance appears much weaker. However, despite this, Danjou is still a very strong warrior and very healthy. After running from Konoha and changing his identity, Danjou has now created the illusion of being nothing more than a feeble old man. His once pure black hair has become completely white. His eyebrows had become thicker and more unkept as well as turning white as well. He has also grown a long goatee beard which ends just at the top of his pec line. He also has several wrinkles all over his face and neck and his hands now appear to half arthritis. As nothing more than an old man, he’ll appear in with a rather soothing smile with his eyes closed most of the time, walking at a rather slow pace. His eyes have deteriorated and his joints weakened as he uses a cane help maintain his balance and help him see where he’s going. He struggles with physical feats like lifting boxes or pulling carriages and his arthritis makes his hands unsteady. This persona of his is a technique Danjou calls “Shroud of the Feeble.” It is not an actual technique, rather a basic principle of the deception of shinobi. Upon meeting Danjou for the first time he uses this to conceal the fact that he is a shinobi. Very few have seen Danjou’s true nature as a shinobi and live to tell about it.

Underneath his Shroud of the Feeble, Danjou is an incredibly dangerous shinobi. Possessing his clan’s Kekkei Genkai, naturally Denjou’s vision is rather sharp and his Sharingan allows him to notice things most others can’t. As well, Danjou’s joints and bones are still strong, strong enough to even keep up with shinobi half his age. The wrinkles that appear on his face and neck don’t pass those points. Under his attire, Danjou has maintained the same physique he possessed when he was in his prime. As well, his body appears to have not aged as much as his face. His speed and reflexes are still on par enough for him to fight without much hindrance. He does suffer some limitations of his age, not having as much stamina as he once did. However his control over his chakra has worked in his favor in that respect. As well, being a master in various jutsu and therefore, forming hand seals, his arthritis is nothing more than part of his act.

His current attire consists of a dark green kosode with a dark blue/navy jinbaori over it. He wears dark gray hakama with black socks and traditional sandals. He is often seen with a cane and a toothpick in his mouth. Both, however, are concealed weapons; his toothpick being a senbon needle, a projectile weapon that he professed his specialty and his cane being a wakizashi blade.

Personality

Stern Upbringing

Growing up as an Uchiha, Danjou was raised with the pride of his clan. Since he was born in the earlier era of the clan, he was strictly raised and trained in the shinobi arts at a very young age, which quickly shaped his personality into a very serious individual. In anything he did, especially his ninjutsu training he was very focused and disciplined. When addressing his elders or the higher ranked members of the clan, he was very respectful and used proper honorifics. As a child, with his mother and siblings, Danjou showed a more natural and childlike character. Around his mother and siblings, Danjou was less rigid in his personality and was often soothed and at peace. Such feelings changed, however, once Danjou’s mother and his sisters left the Uchiha clan, taking Danjou’s happiness with them. Only after meeting Ogen would Danjou feel joy again in his life as he once did.

Danjou was the second born son within a family of four children. It was customary in the family of Uchihas for the males to be brought up strict in the ways of the shinobi at a young age. At the age of 4, Danjou would begin training and upbringing in the most proper of forms in his household under his father. When it came to his shinobi training, Danjou was taught to persevere through pain and never show weakness. When sparing against his father (Jubei) or older brother (Gennosuke), Danjou was to never hold back and to attack as if he were trying to kill as well as defend as if his life depended on it. Losing was frowned upon and met with punishment while winning held as the expectation. His training was rigorous and took a tole, however, Danjou met every ounce of his training with the highest amount of discipline. Upon losing to his brother on occasions, he felt the shame and pondered on his loss. He asked for no praise upon his victories either. He never held back against his opponents nor did he show fear or weakness. When it came to his behavior outside of his shinobi training, Danjou was just as disciplined. He had the utmost respect and etiquette towards his parents and older brother and showed it. He always bowed in the presence of the shinobi and elders of the clan and treated the heads of the clan with great respect as well. Though he showed great respect for his mother and his entire family, when his father wasn’t around, Danjou was much more like an actual child.

Love of his Mother and Sisters

Danjou’s mother, Suki, was not a native to the Uchiha clan. She was a peasant woman from a small village that had hired the Uchiha’s to defend against their oppressive Daimyou. In return, woman from the village were offered as part of the payment. Though traditionally, shinobi clans maintained their bloodline within their own clan, the Uchihas made acceptations as they were in the attempt to gain greater numbers against their rivals the Senju. Suki was one of the women who were sent to bare the children of stronger Uchiha warriors. Though against her will, she graciously accepted her fate for her people to act as the wife and child barer for the Uchihas. She grew accustomed to the lifestyle and traditions of the Uchiha and accepted them. She treats all her children, however, with much affection and love. As would any mother, Uchiha or not. Though his life in training was rough, Danjou found much comfort in his mother. The relationship Danjou had with Suki was stronger than any of the others. Danjou’s older brother embraced much of his father’s characteristics, and the two daughters were spared of the level of harshness and scrutiny of the male children. Both Danjou and Gennosuke were much different in the presence of their mother and little sisters.

They were very carefree, joyful, and affectionate. Danjou’s relationship with Gennosuke transformed from being training partners, rival companions to close brothers when their father wasn’t around. They were closest as brother, just as Madara was to Izuna. They cared deeply for each other and helped and felt pride for one another in their accomplishments.

To both brothers, however, their sisters (Mei and Mai) were just as important to them. They cared deeply for their sisters and were often over protective and concerned for them. Though they were females, they too would have to experience the life of kunoichi at some point. Though they cared deeply, they were often comedic in their actions around them. They would even bicker about which one would be the one to protect them better, or who loved them more. They’d sometimes fight, but never in such a way as they would in their actual training ventures. They also weren’t above playing practical jokes on their sisters every now and again. Danjou and Gennosuke would often scare them with stories or use their basic transformation technique to scare their sisters and blame the other. It was almost like a competition to the two.

A short time after Danjou would enter the battle field as a shinobi of his clan, Suki would disappear with both Mei and Mai, leaving a note that hurt Danjou to his core. Both Danjou and Gennosuke were devastated by the sudden loss of their mother but the impact was much greater on Danjou. As said before, Danjou’s relationship with his mother was much stronger than those of either Gennosuke or Mei and Mai. As well, he had lost both of his sisters which made things even worse. Danjou’s level of happiness faded quickly and he began to reside much more into his other personality. The result was much of the same with Gennosuke though, not to the same level. Gennosuke attempted to be the brother he always was with Danjou but it felt useless. For Gennosuke, the feelings of loss didn’t resonate as much as with Danjou. Danjou was hiding his true feelings of depression and sadness under his stern demeanor and was trying to force them away but maintaining such a personality.

Meeting his love, Ogen

On the dawn of the truce between the Senju and Uchiha clans, Danjou would meet a girl who would resurrect his past feelings of happiness and dilute rid him of his sadness. Ogen was a kunoichi from the Senju clan. It was the final battle of the Uchiha and Senju where the two first met and the construction of Konoha where they would truly come to know one another. Danjou had fought against Ogen in the final battle just before the truce commenced. Ogen was a fierce fighter with much determination and loyalty to her clan, loyalty and courage that was admired deeply by Danjou. Despite being enemies and the hate Danjou had for Senju, Danjou honestly could say he liked Ogen. When the fighting stopped and both clans retreated, Danjou kept thinking about that one girl. When Konoha was built, Danjou came across Ogen again simply passing by, however, the sight of her sparked Danjou and he immediately went to her and followed her. As he followed her in the shadows, he noticed traits of her that he hadn’t seen while in battle. She was gentle, kind, and soothing; characteristics that brought up nostalgic memories of his mother. When confronted, Ogen became very stern towards Danjou, however, he noticed something in her that was strange. Unlike most Senju, there was no hatred in her eyes for the Uchiha. As the two became closer, Danjou discovered that Ogen had no actual resentment towards him or the Uchihas, rather, her only true passionate feelings were of loyalty to her clan. The relationship between the two escalated well into that of a romantic one, the very first of their clans to go so far into a relationship with their former rivals.

Ogen had brought out a side of Danjou that was never conveyed before. As the two progressed in their relationship, Danjou displayed a tenderness and deep sense of loyalty that resembled Ogen. He often attributed his new personality traits as something that was contagiously caught by Ogen, often when teasing her. Danjou also became more in favor to seeking peace just like the clan heads and Ogen.

In the later years of his time with Ogen and Konoha, much had begun to change around Danjou which changed him and made him who he is today. Ever since he was a child, Danjou had a deep admiration for Madara, looking up to his clan leader for his strength and his resolve for peace. By the time Konoha had been fully created and Danjou’s relationship with Ogen was well underway, Danjou had become like many other Uchiha, very open to the idea of peace with their former Senju rivals. However, Konoha’s completion had become the peak of Danjou’s happiness.

Pain of Betrayal

Danjou was among few within the Uchiha clan who had actually desired for Madara to become Shodaime Hokage. He was incredibly disappointed when Hashirama became the leader and he started to become skeptical. He began to sympathize with many of the thoughts Madara had about the true nature of the Senju and the concept of peace, though he never actually knew about Madara’s line of thinking. His conclusions were on his own, but deep down Danjou still desired peace much like his other Uchiha brethren, mainly because of his relationship with Ogen. When Madara had left Konoha, with the rest of the clan turning their backs on him and his words, Danjou was just the same. He respected Madara but disapproved of the radicalism of his actions by trying to get the Uchihas to defect. He held out hope that one day Madara would return but such a day never came. Word of Madara’s death against Hashirama Senju devastated and enraged Danjou and his old hatred for the Senju began to rise again.

Though he still loved Ogen, Danjou had begun to see the same light Madara had upon the creation of the Military Police. Danjou knew of Tobirama’s resentment towards the Uchiha and knew that with the heir to the Hokage title being that of Tobirama’s there was no hope for the Uchihas. Danjou began to fester with hatred and even became paranoid towards Ogen and he distanced himself from her.

Tobirama feared Uchiha like Danjou, who had the same mentality of Madara and as a result sought to keep an eye on people like him. Danjou’s paranoia would be confirmed when he realizes that Ogen had been asked to spy on his activities and report them to Tobirama. He never directly confronted her on the subject, hoping she’d reveal herself based on the relationship they had but that ideal failed. When Gennosuke and his daughter Kagero were killed by a group of Senju, of which Ogen was present, having taken his brother’s life, Danjou snapped and killed the group with the exception of Ogen. Before leaving Konoha, Danjou conveyed what he knew about Ogen’s assignment as well as his deep rooting hate for her and the rest of the Senju. Danjou defected carrying this hate with him.

Transformation of the lecher

Ashamed that he had not seen the signs earlier and turning his back on his on Madara, Danjou went into self-imposed exile and hid is identity as a shinobi. He took up the surname of Kouga and a new persona all together. Danjou’s new persona, which he maintains too this day is that of a lecherous man. When he was younger, he used his looks and smooth talking demeanor to pick up women and was much of a womanizer. However, now that his looks have left him, he uses his shroud as a feeble old man to pick up sympathy from young beautiful women and often enough fake injuries or bad eye sight to get them to get close to him.

However, deeply rooted is his hate for the Senju and Konohagakure. From years of experience as a shinobi and his training, Danjou has developed a rather wise and calm demeanor. Though his hate for the Uchihas are strong, he does not manifest it with such passion as other who have such hate. He is quite rational, open minded, and insightful.

History:

Danjou was the second born son of Jubei Uchiha and Suki Ayano in the era just before the creation of Konoha. Several years before Danjou’s birth, the Uchiha clan was hired by a small impoverished village to help them overthrow an oppressive Daimyou that was sovereign of the land. The small village was weak financially despite having the neighboring villages aiding for the same cause. Despite this, the Uchihas accepted with the condition that the village provides them with strong, healthy women in addition to the normal monetary fee. Against the usual traditions of keeping the Uchiha bloodline within the clan, the Uchihas wanted to increase their numbers and strengthen their forces against their Senju rivals. Suki Ayano, a mere 16 year old girl at the time, was selected to be one of the females that would join the Uchiha clan as the surrogate for the Uchiha bloodline. Jubei Uchiha would be the shinobi to take her, claiming her as his wife. Three years later, Danjou’s older brother Gennosuke would be born and another 5 would mark Danjou’s birth.

Danjou's Early Life
Birth and Attachment

Danjou was born only a few months after the death of the Tajima Uchiha, at which point, Madara had assumed the role of the Head of the Uchiha Clan. Danjou was under the care of his mother until the age of 4 where he began his shinobi training under Jubei. For the brief time he was under his mother’s care, Danjou and Suki developed a relationship that had not been developed between her and Gennosuke when he was being nursed. Danjou proved himself to be much more tender and kind hearted than his brother and really clung to his mother during his youngest years. He was a real ‘mama’s boy’ and because of that, he and Suki possessed a very strong bond.

Beginning Training

When Danjou began his training, he began like his older brother Gennosuke; learning nothing physical but rather learning about his identity. Jubei Uchiha was a rather unorthodox shinobi. When the women from the peasant village were selected, they were agreed to go only to the strongest Uchiha males outside the heads of the family. The reason for this was to have the men train their children to be just as strong even without the full bloodline. Jubei was well respected as a powerful member during his time. Though he was strict, he did not subject intense training onto his sons from such a young age. Jubei first began by teaching Danjou what it was to be an Uchiha and why they fought. Danjou’s first lessons were intensive study. Jubei confined Danjou to complete solitude for a month while he taught him about the past of the Uchiha and their legendary feud with the Senju. Ancient scriptures that were taken from the Uchiha shrine, records of battle and diaries from past Uchiha, the reason for hatred against the Senju. Whenever Jubei wasn’t with Danjou during that month, Danjou was alone in his own room, with no contact from anybody. He was tasked to memorize everything his father had told him day after day and let it sink in. This began the serious streak of the young Uchiha boy.

The second stage of Danjou’s training would begin immediately after, where he would learn about his clan’s treasure, the Sharingan. Aside from the little he learned from the history, Jubei separated the history from the Sharingan for Danjou. This next training that Danjou went through was similar to last training, however, this time, the isolation wasn’t physical. Danjou caught the first glimpse of the Sharingan when Jubei activated it before him and spun a genjutsu on the 4 year old. The genjutsu was nothing harmful, yet it took Danjou into a realm he had never experienced before. It was in this illusion that Jubei explained to Danjou what the Sharingan was, and the power it possessed. He re-created images and occurrences from the years of the Sage of Six Paths based on the interpretations of the Uchihas. He had Danjou witness the battle between the Senju Clan ancestor and the Uchiha Clan ancestor. He explained to Danjou what Ninjutsu was, about genjutsu and the other various ninja arts and the Sharingan’s ability to copy them all. This information, all through the guise of a genjutsu cast over a month’s time. Danjou was virtually a zombie, reacting on the pure will of Jubei, like a puppet. The first two stages of Danjou’s training were two fold. Danjou gained knowledge as well as developed his mental strength and spiritual powers; the aspects of genjutsu. By the end of the two months, Danjou had gained much more intelligence and a stronger spiritual development than any other Uchiha child three times his age, aside from his brother.

Activating the Sharingan

The final stage of Danjou’s preliminary training was the field of battle. Danjou had learned nothing in terms of combat yet. The most he’s ever done was toss a few kunai and shuriken and practice with a boken when he was younger. Jubei had no intention of taking Danjou into battle, rather, he wanted to show his son the results of war and have him see what he’d be in for shortly. A recent battle between the Uchiha and the Senju had commenced some time ago when Danjou was in his second stage. The battle field was still littered with the corpses of the fallen Senju and Uchiha. Danjou was taken to the barren battle field to behold every one of the corpses. As they walked through the bodies, Danjou saw many people he had recognized from the clan. He saw the fathers of his friends, friends of his father that would often come by. He also saw shinobi Gennosuke’s age; friends of his who were older and played alongside him and Gennosuke not more than a few months before Danjou began his training. The sight was unruly and shocking to the young boy. Jubei said that this was the fate of most Uchiha. He then pointed to one of the shinobi around Gennosuke’s age and said that their death was because they were not strong enough and that it was Jubei’s job to make sure he and Gennosuke were strong. It was at this point where the father and son duo would notice a straggling Senju shinobi, wounded. He was barely moving but his injuries were not immediately fatal. Jubei drew a kunai and handed it to Danjou and ordered him to kill him. Danjou took the kunai and proceeded to the dying ninja but he was hesitant, looking into the eyes of the Senju and he froze. He turned back to Jubei who had turned his back and began walking away back to the clan. The Senju took advantage and knocked Danjou down with a punch and took the kunai. The face of the Senju froze Danjou in fear which inevitably activated his Sharingan. The boy’s heart raced and he managed to move from the ground as the shinobi stumbled to try and stab the boy. Without thinking, Danjou picked up a sword from one of the other corpses around and he swung at the neck of the shinobi. The weight of the sword was more than Danjou was used to but he caught the ninja on the side of the neck and it went deep enough to kill him instantly. Danjou panted and his anxiety was still sharp from the situation. He stared at the shinobi for a brief moment before running back to his father. The anxiety quickly left him and when Danjou returned back to his father’s side, Jubei told him that hesitation is an enemy created by one’s self and that it is his worst enemy, greater than any Senju. He then told Danjou that he activated his Sharingan earlier than his brother, giving his son a small smile, which made Danjou smile as well.

His True Training

Upon the return, instead of going through the activation phase, Jubei took Danjou to the first stage of his actual training; training in ninja arts. Danjou began learning the arts of taijutsu, genjutsu, and ninjutsu and the various other arts with basic projectile and melee weaponry, trap skills, and the basic tenements of the shinobi. In many shinobi clans, a shinobi saw combat starting at a very young age. A majority of child deaths within these clans came from death on the battle front. The Uchiha were no exception to this rule. By the time a young Uchiha reached the age of 10 they were cast into the battlefield as full-fledged shinobi. Until that time, it was the job of the parents within the Uchiha to prepare them for such a time. By the start of his training, Danjou had little less than six years to hone his abilities before he would ascend into battle. Though Gennosuke was the eldest brother, Jubei had taken favor in Danjou since his birth and conspired to raise Danjou to attain a much higher level than his brother. Jubei’s reasons for this were merely based on a theory he possessed, a theory he would test on his own children. When Jubei began Danjou’s training, he did not start him off as he did Gennosuke, teaching him each craft and skill; Danjou was forced to watch and observe his brother and play catch up. Jubei taught Danjou very little in this regard. Though he would’ve made Danjou do so anyway, Jubei used the excuse that because Danjou activated his Sharingan on his own, he’d learn ninjutsu on his own as well.

For the next four years of his life, Danjou fought in competition with his brother in attempts to catch up to and eventually surpass his brother as a shinobi. As well, Danjou was held to the same level of standards as Gennosuke and punished more severely than his brother in regards to failures or shortcomings. Though younger, Danjou showed prowess in abilities that exceeded his brother. When it came to genjutsu, Danjou excelled. Only a few months into his training and Danjou could perform techniques just as well as his brother. It didn’t take long for him to excel past his brother in that regard. As well, Danjou found himself especially proficient when it came to senbon, possessing greater accuracy with those weapons than any other and being strong in needle based techniques. Because of his great skills in genjutsu, Danjou professed himself a more tactical fighter than his brother as well. In feats such as taijutsu and ninjutsu, however, Danjou constantly saw himself coming up short for much of his training with Gennosuke, until his skills eventually evened with his brothers.

Agony of the Mother

A Mother's Worry

A short year after Danjou began his training would his twin sisters, Mei and Mai, be born. Both Danjou and Gennosuke quickly became attached to their new sisters and they came to spend most of their off time playing with their sisters. It was around the same time, however, that Gennosuke would become of age to join the rest of his comrades in battle. A few months after the twins were born, Gennosuke would head out into the battlefield with Jubei and the other Uchihas to fight against a small clan of shinobi for territory. It was a small war that lasted for little more than a week, during which, Danjou was given the responsibility of maintaining the household. During his time alone with his mother and baby sisters, Danjou took a break from his training to give them his full attention. He accompanied his mother in the fields and cooking meals, as well as feeding and caring for Mei and Mai. However, as he spent time with his mother, he’d soon realize the despair within her heart. On the final night before the return of the shinobi, Danjou found his mother holding Mei and Mai, as she cried heavy tears. He rushed to her, much to her happiness and asked for his embrace as well. She then told Danjou of the true reason she was in the Uchiha clan, telling of the past between her village and the contract between the Uchiha clan. She then confessed that even though she accepted on her village’s behalf, she still couldn’t bare the life style. She told Danjou how much it pained her to see both him and Gennosuke go through such rigorous training and the harshness of the punishments they would receive from Jubei. She also told him how she was deathly afraid of losing either of them in war. Though, she says she never dares to regret her sacrifice for her people as it would mean regretting her children, who she held dearest to her heart. Danjou still knew she suffered greatly from the decision. Danjou comforted her, thanking her for being his mother and for giving him his siblings. As well he promised her that neither he nor Gennosuke would die in battle. Suki found comfort in her young son’s words and the four of them spent the night together in each other’s embrace.

The following day, the warriors of the clan returned. Despite the relative small size of the clan they were fighting, almost ¼ of the Uchiha clan’s warriors were killed and injured. The Uchihas had fought against a clan known as the Naras, a clan of tactical geniuses, which clearly showed by the results of the returning Uchiha. Danjou and Suki stood outside their home, waiting for Jubei and Gennosuke. However, shinobi after shinobi passed through the clan without any signs without either Jubei or Gennosuke showing. Danjou saw the anxiety building up in his mother, worrying about Gennosuke. Eventually, Jubei would come into sight and head towards Suki and Danjou, however, Gennosuke wasn’t with him. Suki’s first utterance to her husband would be one of panic, asking where her son was. She was met by silence as Jubei walked into the house ignoring Suki. Jubei would be one of the last able bodied shinobi to come through before the convoy with the fallen shinobi from the war would arrive. Almost immediately, Suki would spot one of the bags about the size of Gennosuke and the same black hair he had leaning outside the bag. She dropped to her knees and began crying, catching the attention of many of the others standing around. Danjou gripped his fist, feeling for his mother before he would relax. He placed his hand on her shoulder and made her look into the crowd. He pointed to Gennosuke who was assisting in carrying one of the corpses back into the village. She smiled with relief before Jubei’s voice would emit from the house; telling Suki how he thought she would be accustomed to clan after all her time there. He put Gennosuke behind to help with the corpses purposely to test her reaction when he returned without Gennosuke. He then prayed that neither Danjou nor Gennosuke picked up any of her weakness and told her to do the same if she truly wished for them to survive. Jubei’s words cut like a knife through Suki but she did just as he instructed much to Danjou’s fury. When Gennosuke returned to the home, Danjou told him of their mother’s past and the promise he made to her. Gennosuke was less moved, however, and sided more with Jubei on the situation causing Danjou to shun his brother for a time.

Danjou's Resolve

After that incident, Danjou resolved that he’d fulfill his promise to his mother on his own, becoming strong enough to stay alive and protect Gennosuke. As the years progressed, Danjou grew faster in his skills and in his discipline all for the sake of his mother. By the time he had turned 10, he had become virtually equal to his brother proportionally. By the time, Danjou would be sent into battle, the state of war between the Uchihas and the Senju would escalate to its peak. His first battle would be against the Senju almost a month after his 10th birthday. Just before he left with Jubei and Gennosuke, Suki’s look of worry was discomforting to him. However, the words of Jubei just upon their leave shocked both Danjou and Suki alike. “Both of them will return to you alive.” Were Jubei’s last words before he left with Danjou and Gennosuke. Though it was in his usual mellow tone, it was enough to bring a smile of reassurance to Suki and to Danjou.

A Mother's Nightmare

Jubei kept good on his promise, however, not to the extent one would hope. The battle was a short one, lasting only a few days, with a defeat by the hands of the Senju. The Uchihas returned from a retreat and regrouping, having lost a rather small but significant fraction of their warriors. Several more were wounded, among them, were both Gennosuke and Danjou. When the trio returned, home, Suki was ambushed with the horrible sight of Gennosuke limping with his arm over Jubei in blood soaked bandages around his chest. He panted heavily from the broken ribs and involuntary tears flowed down his face from pain. The most mortifying vision for Suki, however, was the sight of Danjou slung over Jubei’s shoulder. His eyes were open but devoid of consciousness and he had a large gash from a blade across his entire back which ran deep. Suki was in an uproar of horror, worry and anger all at once. She shouted at Jubei to respond to her questions as to what happened to the two of them but he ignored her as he went to close up the wounds of Danjou and re-bandage Gennosuke. She tried even harder to get his attention, raising her voice several degrees until Jubei turned around and slapped her. He told her to learn her place before he left to the medical storage behind their house. She began to cry over Danjou as she coddled them. Gennosuke noticed his sisters peeking from their room with expressions of fear and confusion. Gennosuke went to go close their door to shut them from the unsightly images of their family. He then turned and addressed his mother telling her that Danjou was the reason he was still alive and that Jubei truly was protective of them. Despite his words, they didn’t seem to register with Suki.

Final Testament

Later that night, Suki confronted Jubei with her pleas for Danjou and Gennosuke to renounce the life of shinobi. She pleaded with him and even began to beg with tears in her eyes while Jubei listened with coldness in his eyes. Despite her words, Jubei simply brushed them aside and walked away from her once she had finished. Suki grabbed his arm to stop him and she became more aggressive. She stated bluntly that she wouldn’t allow for her children to be put in such danger on a regular basis and said that she wouldn’t have them fight again. Jubei effortlessly released himself from the woman’s grip swinging back around and knocking her on the ground. “Foolish woman, I told you to mind your place didn’t I?” Blood ran down Suki’s arm from a deep gash from a kunai Jubei had drawn. Fear froze her as Jubei proceeded towards her. “Four children, four future shinobi have been born, you’ve outlived your usefulness to this clan, even so I’ve allowed your life but I’m rather tired of your weakness now.” Before he could come any closer, a needle flew between Jubei and Suki. The flaring crimson eyes of Jubei’s Sharingan shifted towards the direction of the needle and he saw Danjou in the doorway from the kitchen. His eyes glowed with the Sharingan as well staring down his father. The pure killing intention emitting from Jubei shifted from Suki to Danjou and both could feel it. Where Suki feared for her son, Danjou didn’t flinch in the face of his own mortality. Jubei deactivated his Sharingan and retracted his weapon. He walked out of the room hiding a cynical smile with his last words being “With this successful development, I only need two.” Those ominous words sparked much fear in Suki. Danjou rushed to his mother’s aid returning his usual gentleness whenever he was around her. He assured her that he wouldn’t die and that he wouldn’t let anybody in the family die; her, Mei and Mai, Gennosuke or even Jubei. The words, however, were not so sobering to the distressed Suki.

Goodbye

The following day was the beginning of a three day long training mission between Gennosuke, Jubei and Danjou. Their training was less severe in the face of their injuries of the previous battle but still rigorous. Upon their return home, they found the house silent and absent of life. Suki and the twins were nowhere to be found. Their absence wasn’t immediately disturbing to Danjou or Gennosuke, however as hours passed Danjou began to worry. It wasn’t until the evening when they usually had dinner that Jubei finally came out and told the boys that their mother had left and taken the twins with her. Danjou became infuriated with, what he thought was a cruel joke by his father and Jubei told Danjou to try and track her down anywhere within the village boundaries if he could to act as proof. Danjou ran out back, determined to find his mother but a small note caught his eyes as he stepped over a lose floorboard on the back porch. The note was specifically addressed to Danjou and Gennosuke and it confirmed Jubei’s words. Suki said she left for the sake of Mei and Mai. She was fearful of what Jubei would do to them based on his words the night before they left for training. As well, she couldn’t bare the anxiety of either of them being lost to her either within the battle field or to the mentality of a soulless warrior. She didn’t want to see it and thought it was inevitable. She also wanted to protect Mei and Mai from the same fate. The words tried to sound sincere towards the two boys however they cut Danjou like a knife. He felt betrayed and as if Suki hadn’t believed in the words he told her that night. He was also hurt by the notion that he would fall into darkness and that she simply abandoned them. When Danjou showed Gennosuke the note, Gennosuke’s reaction was much of the same as Danjou’s however he recovered quicker, accepting it as something he couldn’t change. Jubei admitted to Danjou that he knew Suki would attempt to leave with the twins, which was why he said he only needed two. He was referring to Danjou and Gennosuke being the only heirs he needed to strengthen the clan. At this point, Danjou didn’t care, his entire world was thrown off and he changed and became more cynical, much to Jubei’s pleasure.

A New Era
The Kunoichi, Ogen

Danjou would continue to battle against the Senju with much relentlessness and fury. His hate for the Senju mixed in with his repressed feelings of pain from his mother’s abandoning made him fight with more passion and strength. This changed, however, on the final battle between the Uchiha and Senju when Danjou met a kunoichi by the name of Ogen. Danjou and one other Uchiha defeated a small squad of 5 Senju before a larger unit of at least 10 surrounded them, including Ogen. They were quickly overwhelmed, however the comrade that Danjou was with sacrificed himself in order to kill three of the shinobi and create an opening for Danjou to get out of the encirclement. The situation left Danjou without a chance to retreat so upon his comrade’s sacrifice he used a mass affecting genjutsu to capture the remaining shinobi and kill them off while they were off guard. It only worked on two others before Ogen had released herself and protected the rest of the group. Ogen ordered the rest of her comrades to stand down while she fought him by herself. The two fought for a while without either giving an inch. As Danjou fought her, he was slightly thrown off by the weird aura he felt around her. He sensed no intent to kill from her and even when Danjou tried to make breaks to kill the other Senju standing by, she would simply offer herself to protect them. It wasn’t long after that the Senju were called to retreat and Danjou’s fight with the Senju kunoichi ended. It was later that the Danjou found out that the two clans finally called a truce between them and the construction of Konohagakure would begin. Danjou recognized that the feelings he had for the kunoichi he fought was respect. Though he was thrown off by her, he didn’t hold back and felt that it would’ve been insulting of her to do so, something that puzzled him. He contemplated these feelings well into the creation of Konoha.

Once both Senju and Uchiha had come together under the same village, Danjou immediately noticed Ogen with a group of friends, dressed in informal female attire. Danjou was shocked to see Ogen but even more so to see her out of the setting of battle. He followed her and the group as they went into a bathhouse that had recently been constructed. Danjou had never been in normal settings with females, thus his following them into the bathing area wasn’t something that came off as inappropriate. Danjou was still in ninja mode. However, the acoustics of within the bathing room were much more sensitive. Though he hid well and silent enough for the other females not to notice, the tuned senses of Ogen caught up on Danjou and she used the steam of the hotspring to toss a bucket at his head where his Sharingan couldn’t see it. Danjou avoided getting hit but it forced him into the open in the middle of the room with the females. They all screamed but Danjou was still oblivious to the fact they were ordinary and was still in ninja mode. Ogen grabbed him from his blindside, however and chucked him out of the room. It was then, wrapped in a towel that Ogen began to yell and lecture the Uchiha first by calling him a pervert. Danjou’s serious response as to saying he was trying to gather information about her made Ogen laugh at him. When she explained the whole situation about the implications of following women into a hotspring Danjou immediately became flustered and told her that he wasn’t even thinking about those things. However, at that point Danjou had begun to stare at Ogen’s body wrapped in the bath towel. This may have been the beginning of Danjou’s lecherousness. When Ogen asked why Danjou wanted to spy on her, he told her about the sensation he had while fighting her. She didn’t remember ever fighting against Danjou which made him upset. She told him to wait for her while she finished bathing so she could speak with him more afterwards.

When Ogen and the group came out, each one of the girls giggled slightly at Danjou as they passed him outside. Danjou blushed, knowing Ogen had told them about what had happened. When Ogen and Danjou began talking, Danjou elaborated more on how he felt and that he felt insulted she didn’t remember him. Ogen apologized again saying she didn’t distinguish the faces of those trying to hurt her comrades. Her words confused Danjou, but even more her polite and gentle manor towards him was even more confusing. Danjou was still very stern and on guard with her yet she seemed completely relaxed, as if she didn’t remember he was an Uchiha.

True Nature

Day after day transpired from their first meeting and every time Ogen would pass by she would smile at Danjou or call out to him. Danjou would also occasionally follow her when he’d see her around the village. The times Ogen would find out, she’d tease him by going into a hotspring or bathroom, a place she knew he wouldn’t follow her. Eventually the two would begin missions together on the orders of the council that still ran the village before the initiation of Hokage. On a mission to kill a rouge group of shinobi that had come into the territory of Konoha, Ogen was paired with Danjou and two other Senju. The setting was very uncomfortable for Danjou and he was skeptical. The group of shinobi were fairly weak, or so the team thought. The group let their guard down and they managed to kill one of the Senju on Ogen and Danjou’s team and wound Danjou. One of the group fell back and attacked both Danjou and the other Senju while their teammates kept Ogen occupied. Ogen deflected the kunai that came towards her Senju kinsmen and placed herself as a shield over Danjou. She fell unconscious but the action of protecting him confused Danjou. Danjou became enraged and activated his Sharingan and made quick work of the shinobi that attacked Ogen and created an opening with genjutsu for the other shinobi to take down the others. Danjou then remembered what Ogen said about not distinguishing the faces of those who tried to hurt her comrades. It was then that Danjou realized that Ogen didn’t hold hate for the Uchiha but she was dedicated to protecting those important to her. By her actions, Danjou also realized that he had become important to her in the process.

Shinobi's Romeo and Juliet

Over the course of the years, Danjou and Ogen would become closer. Danjou renounced his hatred for the Senju on that mission where Ogen saved his life. He became like her and he became more pure hearted as Ogen’s kindness and love affected him. The two eventually entered a romantic relationship, one that was the first between Senju and Uchiha. During these years, Danjou felt the disappointment of losing Madara after he defected after losing the title of Shodaime Hokage. He still had love for Ogen and trusted the rest of the Senju as if they were his own clan as well. Though this didn’t last long. The news of Madara’s death at Hashirama’s hands invoked immediate hatred towards Hashirama. As well, the initiation of the Military Police was begun by Tobirama. This was immediately seen through by Danjou for what it was, a limitation on the movement of the Uchiha. This was the time when Danjou began to distance himself from Ogen because of his anger towards her clan. He didn’t want to hurt her with his thoughts.

Pain and Departure
Coup de' tat

It wasn’t long after that, Gennosuke contacted Danjou about organizing a coup de’ tat against the Senju. Gennosuke had seen the rouse of the Senju. Gennosuke joined the MP to act as a guise and he had a small faction within the MPs that were going to attempt to assassinate Tobirama. Though reluctant in his answer, Danjou disagreed to being a part of it and urged Gennosuke to hold to the ideals that Madara originally had for peace. Danjou didn’t believe his own words, but he didn’t want the possibility of war with the Senju again knowing that it would conflict with his and Ogen’s relationship. Gennosuke left his brother alone but continued with his conspiring behind his back. It was also at this time, Danjou noticed that he was being spied on. Danjou managed to spot one of his followers and cast them under genjutsu to have him reveal everything he knew. He said that he and a squad of shinobi were ordered to spy on him and gave the names of those involved. Among them was Ogen who agreed to do so. After hearing this, Danjou killed the shinobi with tears of rage and betrayal in his eyes.

Broken Hearts

For months after, Danjou said nothing to Ogen about finding out her mission and she simply went on from day to day as if nothing had happened. When Danjou captured another shinobi of the squad, the shinobi said that they suspected the disappearance of the squad mate (the one Danjou killed) to be because of Danjou and that reports were being given more frequently by him and the others in the squad, including Ogen. The shinobi also mentioned that there was going to be an ambush on a syndicate they discovered was attempting a coup de tat. Danjou immediately rushed to his brother only to find him and three other shinobi surrounded by a group of Senju. Five Uchiha lay dead and Kagero, Gennosuke’s daughter was being held hostage. As Danjou was about to head in to try and stop the situation, he noticed Ogen among group and he froze. Gennosuke spoke, pleading with them to release his daughter, who wasn’t even a shinobi. The Senju told them to surrender but the others in the Uchiha group provoked them even further saying they weren’t the last ones who’d oppose the Senju. Kagero bit the hand of the shinobi holding her and tried to run. The shinobi grabbed her and she turned around grabbing a knife and stabbed him. Immediately another shinobi killed Kagero and called the Uchihas liars about her not being a ninja. Though Kagero truly wasn’t a ninja, it didn’t matter, Gennosuke flew into a rage and killed the man who struck down his daughter. This was followed immediately by Ogen coming up from behind and stabbing Gennosuke through the heart. At that moment, Danjou yelled, giving out his presence. The Senju were surprised, none more so than Ogen though. Danjou leapt into action and the Senju prepared to attack him. They found themselves restricted, though, as they were caught under a genjutsu. Ogen released herself from the genjutsu and found Danjou slaughtering each and every one of the shinobi. Ogen stepped forward but she froze, conflicted on what to do. Danjou was her lover but her clan was her family. They were both important to her. The two remaining Uchiha attempted to attack Ogen but they were cut down by Danjou. In the process, Danjou purposely cut Ogen on her left leg causing her to kneel. She turned to Danjou and reached for him and tried to speak but Danjou didn’t let her. He kicked her to the ground and turned his back to her. He told her he knew everything about what she was assigned to do. He also told her that Kagero wasn’t a kunoichi and that she should’ve known that as well and stopped them from killing her. He turned to her flaring his Sharingan in tears and hatred for her and verbalized how he hated the Senju. He then said how he hated himself for still having enough care about her to not kill her. It was then that he left Konoha and wandered in exile.

The Reunion
The Sisters' Return

Danjou wasn’t even in his 30s by the time he left the village behind. For the next decade of his life, he faced constant assassination attempts from the shinobi of Konoha. Occasionally he fought members of the Uchiha clan who had not yet seen the trap the Senju had placed them in. He considered their execution a mercy killing to save them from servitude. After the assassination attempts began to die down, Danjou hid himself better and better under the guise of Danjou Kouga, a lecherous traveler who would often be chased out of towns for excessive sexual harassments either by local authorities or by the mob of women he peeped on, grouped, flirted with. It was during one of his treks to another village in the Land of Hot Springs that Danjou would be shocked to come across two dark haired twins which he immediately recognized as Mei and Mai. They were grown women but that didn’t stray Danjou in the slightest. He recognized them as any truly loving brother would even if he hadn’t seen them in 30 years. Their face, hair, smiles were the dead the dead give aways. Danjou approached them however they had no idea of who he was. He didn’t reveal himself to the twins as he feared for their safety should his identity be discovered by his pursuers. It is with that respect that Danjou maintained his usual personality since leaving the village. He made several passes at the twins and hit on them. As awkward as it sounds for him to do such a thing to his own sisters, Danjou was merely keeping his composure. Much to their annoyance, Danjou kept following them until they reached a small shack within the village where two children ran out and immediately hugged Mei’s leg. More children came out into the large field outside the shack and an older woman holding a baby came over to the twins. Danjou then realized that both of his sisters were now parents of their own and that their life was truly peaceful. Until it was pointed out by one of the kids, Danjou didn’t realize he had a sobering stern look on his face as he watched his sisters and his niece and nephews.

The Unfortunate Happening

Mei and Mai finally became fed up with Danjou at that point and yelled at him to leave them alone. To which he smiled and asked them about their mother and how she was doing. They were both puzzled as to how Danjou knew their mother, however, that puzzling feeling was soon replaced with sadness. They told him that she died of an illness several months ago. They asked how he knew her and Danjou simply replied that he was from the village she was originally born in and her family was close to his. Danjou had no idea that Suki and the twins returned to her old village for a time after they had left but it fit quite well as a cover. Danjou then apologized for being rude to them before and began to leave. The little girl that ran to Mei grabbed Danjou by his shirt to stop him from leaving. She was shy and quiet and her actions surprised both of them as she was later described as not being very social. Danjou’s rouse was completely different now. He had returned to a time when he was happy with just his mother, sisters, and his brother Gennosuke. When he was brought back to their home, Danjou felt the nostalgia of being in a moderately happy house hold. Though it was different to see an atmosphere with no hostility, no violence, completely void of the shinobi life style. He was hurt by his mother for her leaving him, he was happy that she was able to make a better life for both of his sisters. They offered him to stay the night, which he accepted with little hesitation. Danjou took the two children and played with them outside before dark, which would be a fatal mistake. Masked assailants of Konoha’s newly established Anbu, managed to track down Danjou’s general vicinity. His staying within the Land of Hotsprings for such a period of time resulted in their getting a lock on him. That night, the house was infiltrated while everybody was asleep. The young girl, Hana, would interrupt Danjou’s sleep to ask to lay with him. Both went back to sleep and the Anbu moved in to strike. They got within striking range only to have several needles shoot into their necks. Two of them were killed on spot without Danjou so much as moving. The other two went in to kill in a direct assault. Danjou had no other choice but to move, which caused the sensitive Hana to wake. When she saw the masked men she screamed which immediately woke the others within the house. Hana’s eyes glew red with the accidental activation of her Sharingan with her Uchiha blood running through her. Danjou pressed his head to his chest and swiftly killed the other two shinobi.

New Life

When Mei and Mai appeared the four bodies of the Anbu were on the ground and one vanished in a cloud of smoke. Danjou placed Hana down and she ran to her mother. Danjou went over to the small pack he had brought with him as the twins became defensive. Danjou apologized for having brought them into harm’s way and said that since one of the ninja was a shadow clone and saw Hana’s eyes, they knew that she was an Uchiha. When they heard this, Mei and Mai were shocked that Danjou knew of their clan. Though they were young at the time of their defection from the clan, they still knew a fair amount about the shinobi world and their heritage. Danjou gave his pack, which was filled with scrolls, to his sisters, telling them that it would be imperative that they learn from these scrolls and taught their children these skill for their own benefit. He said that they too would have to learn to activate their Sharingan for protection against future attacks. It was at this point both twins realized who he was; they recognized his expression, his hair, and his Sharingan. Tears began to flow down their face as they spoke his name. They spoke his name just before Danjou put them to sleep with his genjutsu. He placed the two of them, Hana, and her brother Ko in bed together before he left. When they awoke the next morning he was gone.

Bliss among the Chaos

Danjou kept away from them after that, knowing that if they kept hidden and he was still more of a threat to Konoha, the focus would be strayed from them. The decades passed and Danjou became older and older. The assassinations eventually came to a halt all together and for much of his life he maintained his guise and trained in secret to keep his skill sharp. It wasn’t until word of the Uchiha assassination by Itachi Uchiha came to him that he began to worry again about his sisters and nieces and nephew. Danjou caught back up with the group who had settled on an island outside the territory of the Land of Water. Hana and Ko were all grown up by this time and Hana was a mother. They were all still together with the exception of Mai who had passed away some years before. Danjou noticed a masked shinobi from Danzo Shimura’s faction of Root looming around the family. To his surprise though, Hana noticed him and dispatched the shinobi with while the others were preoccupied. Danjou watched and saw that both Hana and Ko had become fine shinobi capable of defending themselves. He left with little worries and headed towards Kirigakure. Though he was less worried about his family he still wanted to remain close to them in the event they ever needed him. The Mizukage agreed to allow Danjou to take refuge in exchange for becoming a shinobi of Kirigakure. Though Danjou agreed, he remained nomadic throughout the islands surrounding the main land of the Land of Water and the central continent.

Other

Abilities

Genjutsu Master: Ever since Danjou began his training as a shinobi, he has been inclined towards genjutsu. Though it is normal for members of the Uchiha clan to excel especially in the area of genjutsu, Danjou surpassed standards even for Uchiha. He excelled in the genjutsu phase of training that his father put him through (see history) which allowed him to surpass many of his age group starting out and even his older brother, who was trained in the same methods. During his travels after his defection from Konoha, he met up with a shinobi skilled in the arts of genjutsu (Scorps) who taught him a secret set of illusions that are known to only a handful of true genjutsu masters. In his later years as a shinobi, Danjou came across another Uchiha, a female that had apparently survived the assassination. Her name was Isabella (Liliana <3). Isabella’s stunning beauty naturally attracted the lecherous Danjou, however, when he found out she too was an Uchiha he was even more interested in her. For whatever reason, whether it be her pity on the old man or her taking a liking to him as well, Isabella agreed to train him. The skills of genjutsu he learned from Isabella were phenominal and only matched by his other sensei who taught him the master’s sect. Danjou discovered that Isabella and her former sensei were in fact very close and she was a well noted master as well. Danjou has mastered the genjutsu arts to such an extent he can perform even the most advanced techniques with the wave of a single seal.

Sharingan: Danjou activated his Sharingan at the age of 4. Though it was common for Uchihas to activate their Kekkei Genkai at a young age, Danjou and Gennosuke were early bloomers because of their father’s training. Danjou, however, activated his dojutsu during a near death experience (see history). The experience immediately activated his Kekkei Genkai for the first time, allowing Danjou to use it at will from there after (Activated it with Akiza in my first Uchiha bio. It only has one tome).

Elemental Manipulation: Danjou has mastered several nature elements over the years from training extensively under his father and clan. As an Uchiha he was brought up to use the fire nature, however, in those regards Danjou proved to be below average within the regards of the Uchiha. Despite being lower for Uchiha standards, Danjou is still pretty knowledgeable in the art. It was discovered later that he took a special affinity towards the wind nature. He began learning about the wind nature from a shinobi within Konoha who was also blessed with the affinity. He took to it quickly and became proficient in the skill within a matter of months without the use of his Sharingan and it’s mimicry abilities. He was at a mastery level in the art by the time he defected from Konoha. Some time in his fifties, Danjou met a young shinobi named Hawke. The two had a lot in common, they were both Konoha defects and proficient in wind release. Having taken a liking to Danjou, the shinobi trained him in his special wind element, Amatsu Futon (Empyrean Wind Release owned by Zero Kelvin). Danjou became proficient in wind, enough so where he could cast much faster hand seals than most shinobi with that element.

Weaponry Prowess: As a shinobi it is common to learn several different weaponry skills. The most basic of those are the basic projectiles. When it came to a specialty, Danjou professed himself a master with the senbon needles. Lighter and faster than kunai and shuriken, they are also much more difficult in terms of accuracy due to their size. The fact that Danjou is more accurate with these weapons than any other only shows his mastery with them.

Equipment: Danjou is very simplistic in his style of fighting. Before he used to wear the classic metal plated armor as worn by the Uchihas in the waring times before the Great Villages. Now, however, he wears little more than his most standard attire. Underneath his robes he possess mesh armor. When he goes out, not expecting a battle, he’ll travel as lightly as that with the exception of having a hidden store of basic weaponry concealed within his robes. Though as a shinobi, one should live day to day as if they were to expect it to have a battle, Danjou’s only real concern are in cases where he is intentionally looking for drastic outcome. In such cases, Danjou will be more heavily armed. When outwardly displaying himself as a shinobi, Danjou will wear a modified version of his old armor. The armor is more in the style worn by Anbu shinobi with arm guards and a torso protector. The metal skirt from the end of the torso guard still remains. As it is metal plated it protects against general small and mid-sized projectiles and weaponry (freeform Kenjutsu and weaponry uses) in those areas.

Beliefs

Views on Senju: “The Senju are scum but they can’t help it. They were spoiled from their creation because of the decision of Hagoromo; the decision that put the Senju clan ancestor as the one to seek peace over the Uchiha’s ancestor. They’ve always felt they were right because they’ve won. No loser in history has ever been the person who is correct. It is always those who come out victorious. It is because of this first victory they gained their conviction that they are right and therefore had the ability to enforce their view unto others, no matter how dogmatic it may seem. It is also because of this they have the capacity to feel no remorse in their actions against those who do not follow their way, that they can arrogantly pity those who they see as backwards. And because they were the winners, society agreed with them and further babied their actions.”

Views on Uchiha: “The Uchihas have not fallen, they’ve just never risen. Cast in the shadow from their creation, they’ve always been at the mercy of the Senju and the world. Those who see us see the magnificence of our ocular powers and innate ability for the shinobi arts. They also see the darkness that resides which they conceptualize as our pure hatred and jealousy for the Senju. The ‘Curse of Hatred’ is misinterpreted. We resent the Senju for the pride we lost our founding but we hate the Senju because of how spoiled it is and remains. From the very beginning the Uchihas have been the Yin to the Senju’s Yang. They spawned on top while we at the bottom and the structure of our clans abilities add a sense of irony to it as well. However, because we’ve lost to the Senju in so many aspects we’re always looked down upon. We never had grace, we never had love and respect, we’ve only gathered fear and resentment. When I left Konoha, I left the Uchihas as well. However, the clan I left was not the clan I was born into. I was born into a clan that was down trotted on but fought to bring itself up. What I left was a clan that was not only down trotted on, but accepted that as their everlasting state. The state the Senju had successfully poisoned inside them.

The Concept of Nindo never existed when I was growing up. A shinobi’s path and their goal were all centered around their clan. You lived, fought, breathed, died for your clan. Anything less was shameful and unacceptable for a shinobi, especially within the Uchihas. When I met Ogen and the creation of Konoha came, that all changed.

Nindo (past): The face of one enemy is the same as the other; the face of those who wish to harm those I love, those I cherish as my comrades. I will kill any and all enemies with the highest amount of prejudice to assure the safety of my comrades.

Ogen’s Nindo: I do not distinguish the face of one enemy to another. You’re only my enemy if you seek to harm the people I care about. I will throw my own life away to protect those I care about. I will kill my own heart in order to become a shinobi and strike those who wish to harm the ones I love.

My Nindo came from Ogen. She inspired me, however, what differed between her and I was the fact she felt she could let herself die for the ones she cared about. I could not, I could not let myself die for the ones who loved me. The pain that would ensue on those who did care about me was one of my concerns. As well, I trusted nobody else to take the responsibilities I had to the ones I loved. If you love somebody you must protect them, nobody else. Put your life on the line but never let that line break.

Nindo (present): I shall fight with regrets. The past is to be regretted but also to be studied and transformed into wisdom. Enter each situation with a conviction based on the wisdom you have obtained. When you leave, you leave stronger with the knowledge you’ve gathered. You may regret what has occurred, use it and push forward until your last moment of life, the time of reflection and true enlightenment.

I’ve regretted a lot of things in my past. I even regret things now that I wholeheartedly wish I could change. However, more so than anything, I use those feelings to scar me and dwell as lessons that will help me avoid them in the future.

It was...

My eyes hurt after going through it. @__@

Pure badassery. U_U
Or the insanely long story which I admit to being over done but needed to make the character rich in 74 years of history.
