As people already pointed out. Ace left Jimbe in dust after that battle and kept moving forward. Ace was level or two above Jimbe prior to his death.

Not as much as Ace, given the fact that Ace's growth rate is as much as if not better than Luffy.

I would also like to remind you (that beside Ace being years younger than when we first meet him in Alabasta and likely having the same growth rate as Luffy) Ace was a devil fruit user and he battled Jinbe next to the sea and he had not yet joined The legend Whitebeard
