Dai, How Can He Be A Genin?

To open the eighth gate, don't you need to know how to open the other 7 gates? [gate of life,gate of rest,gate of pain,etc.]

Surely this guy is not a genin leveled ninja, most like Dai took out that guy that looked like Zabuza?

Dai's kinjutsu must have been passed down from generation to geeneration, nah, Dai learned this kinjutsu by himself?

Surely Dai is not a genin level shinobi...

he seem to be a man that didnt care for all the other stuff that came with being a shinobi, and we seen him ignore those that made fun of him...also he told gai that he will only use the 8 gates when u are trying to protect something dear to u which is why he told gia to pick what is dear to him and make that the reason to go into the gates as we as what gai told lee to do and lee's was " to protect and maintain one's own ninja way "

Well, he set himself rules that regulated when he could use the gates. That "My rule" philosophy that Guy later inherited.
Thus, he probably decided not to use in any chunin exams, which made him look weak, since that's pretty much everything he could do.

Gates were "kinjutsu", and i guess he didn't feel like showing that off, and also he probably gave up on the exams as a kid, and decided to train in his way.
