Justin Ross Harris, who is charged with murder and second-degree child cruelty, will go before a judge Thursday for a probable cause hearing.

Police say Harris left his 22-month-old son, Cooper, strapped into a car seat under a baking sun for seven hours while he went to work.

The boy died, and Harris sits in jail without bail. He has pleaded not guilty.

Its very illegal here. It happens all the time. In some places if employes see a kid left in a hot car they will bust out the Window or call the cops.

A child should never be left in a car. Ever.

Meh, it was obviously just a stupid mistake. He never meant any malice, so I think the judge should be relatively lenient with him.(like no life sentence or death penalty if that applies.)

I'm with him, he forgot. Stuff like that happens. It happen to me once. Not the car thing.
No, no. This is no "Oh I forgot." EVERYONE knows you never leave a child in a hot car ever for any reason. Nowadays, it's gotten so bad, you can bust the window like Revvy said to free a child from a hot car, and you won't even be breaking the law. This is not forgetting, this is irresponsible, stupidity and failed parenting, and it has resulted in the loss of a life. If you just "forget" your kid is in the car for 7 hours, your stupid-ass shouldn't have had a child.

So what shit happens, people forget, let the man go already!
Don't have any kids, or be in a position to take care of kids, anytime soon.

I read another case about this but it was only for 10 minutes. This is just getting out of hand, TAKE YOUR KID INSIDE WITH YOU.

While my condoloences go out to the boy, I must get a bit off topic..
Why do people feel the need to say "22 month old"? We know that the boy is a year old, and almost 2.
But yeah, shizz happens, and the universe will work things out one way or another.

A million times this. No excuse, he should be thrown in jail. You can bet that judge is gonna come down on him so hard.

Also if you watched the video, his internet search logs showed he was looking up what temp it takes to kill a child in a hot car. His wife also did the same. He also came back to the car and put something in it and STILL forgot the child? Nah this was murder and neglect.

Now that I think about, why did he bring his child to work in the first place? Then, you can't tell me he forgot, because i'm pretty sure that kid made SOME type of noise for him to remember he was in the car.

Ah, I saw the video and you were right. Also, the fact that his wife is defending him so profusely is very suspicious. So there's a high chance that there was malicious intent, which means that I take back what I said in my previous post.

You might not believe, but shit happens. Besides, he was at work (I think). You are thinking about work related shit. In the midst of everything you do not think "Oh! I left my child in the car...", you think "I got to get this done and that done".

I am not saying he should not get charged. I am only understanding his perspective. You clearly are not.

Now that I think about, why did he bring his child to work in the first place? Then, you can't tell me he forgot, because i'm pretty sure that kid made SOME type of noise for him to remember he was in the car.
I thought so too, but not necessarily. The kid does not always make noise. He could have been sleeping.

I didn't see that coming. Well, damn! I kind of skimmed it. >.>
