A portal opens on the floor and a massive metal box rises from it, covered in chains glowing with kanji inscriptions. It opens, spreading dread and fear throughout the field. Scorps pees a little in his pants as the magnificient yet frightening Panda speaks.

Her eyes glow. Vines raise from the ground, wrapping around you. Thorns and sharp needle thin branches pierce your paralized body. The whole area darkens, transforming into a hellish dark gloomy forests as menacing dried up trees rise all around us. The sun, now blueish, seems cold not warm. You feel pain. You see despair. You hear fear. You taste iron. You smell death.

Maria was summoned into the training grounds. "Wow, what a cute little pand-" My thoughts were immediately cut off by a sudden feeling of immense fear and despair that overwhelmed my being. "...what exactly is this?" I thought to myself, for I was too afraid to make a single sound. My fear was further augmented by the grotesque changes in the environment. What was a nice clearing in a plain field transformed into a dreary and hellish forest lacking. Even nature itself died in the presence of a human-sized panda... Amazing.

Now, to add onto my fears, vines restrict and pierce my legs, leaving me immobile and stuck in a place that looked a forest straight out of a horror movie. I succumb to this overwhelming feeling and whisper "..Please have mercy on me......"

Although frightened, I was in awe of Maria's ability to strike fear in everyone, no matter how strong...(Maria made Scorps pee in his pants... U_U)

Ok, now, Maria's Genjutsu isn't damaging nor can she cause distress or pain through it. However, she can virtually cause everything else. Even immobilizing the targets. She excells at concealing you though, which is very useful. Her Genjutsu will also remain in play even if she disappears unless its released.

Well, its basically a teaching from Pandas. Its a defense against mental attacks, most noticeably, Genjutsu.

Panda Genjutsu: Kataki no Nemuri Hakkyou | Panda Illusionary Arts: The Revenge of the Sleeping Madness

Description:
This special Genjutsu is a formidable defense. Its a technique that stays dormant on the users mind until an enemy connects with it. It can only be triggered by offensive enemy eye techniques (like Sharingan ones), aggressive mind manipulation (like the Yamanaka clans) or any other aggressive technique in which the enemy manipulates the users mind (like Genjutsu). Once the users brain is attacked, this defense activates, backtracking through the link created by the enemy and stimulating his dream center to make him suffer horrible and terrifying nightmares as he loses his grasp on reality, leading to complete mental breakdown, physical pain and ultimately can make him faint. This defense is only possible through years of mental training with the Panda Elders; a training to boost ones mental strength to such a degree that if his mind is breached, his chakra attacks whatever is breaching it to defend himself.

Note: This technique is released automatically with little control from the user
Note2: The moment its activated it releases a massive burst of chakra in the users mind that disrupts its flow and dispels any A-rank and below genjutsu that might have been affecting him
Note3: It doesn't require the user to be conscient to be released/activated
Note4: When activated/released, the user is unable to use Genjutsu for 3 turns and can't use any forbidden rank techniques in the next turn
Note5: Requires the Panda Contract and can only be taught by Scorps

Note7: This jutsu has to be stated in the bios special abilities

A few, actually.

Will this work on Keigoku, since Keigoku targets and deteriorates ones mental being?

Do we have free control over the "terrifying nightmares" the target experiences?

"dispels any A-rank and below genjutsu that might have been affecting him" << What about Yamanaka/Keigoku(possibly)/etc? Does this technique defend against A-rank and below of those fields of Ninjutsu?

Is there a way for the user to suppress this technique? For instance, if the enemy uses a D-rank illusion, will this technique still activate or can you opt out of it and use a different method of release so you don't waste it on a weaker illusion?

PS- this is a really cool technique!!

First you have little control but you have some control. This minute control allows you to refrain the technique from activating if you feel you can, otherwise, release from the technique yourself. So the trigger is essential bound to your willing.

As for the nightmarish visions, you can florish it a bit but not too much. You cannot make harmless illusions or anything very detailed. You'll induce a nightmare into the enemy. Note, however, the wording of the technique: "Once the users brain is attacked, this defense activates, backtracking through the link created by the enemy and stimulating his dream center to make him suffer horrible and terrifying nightmares as he loses his grasp on reality, leading to complete mental breakdown, physical pain and ultimately can make him faint. " Its a genjutsu that works on the targets Dream center. You'll essentially make him dream while awake and the dream will be horrific nightmares. If he doesn't release from it with his next move, he'll faint right after. This type of Genjutsu detaches the target from reality and his senses completely. He'll be standing there in reality and unable to move his body as he isn't even aware of his body. He can mold his chakra, yes, but not make handseals or move or even be aware of what you might be doing to his body. The Gen is S-Rank.

It will purge your mind from any technique, not from chakra or invading chakra. Genjutsu up to A-Rank but all other techniques that invade your mind, this will work up to S-Rank, Yamanaka being one of them. As for Keigoku, not sure. Its not a directed effect but rather a side product of how malignant that chakra is. Tbh, I wouldn't claim it to work against Nekuras but I'd need to read the techniques in detail to know. For example, Mind Trick and Will Bend, a CCJ from my clan, can be defended from with this technique.
