Custom Submission Guidelines

These are the established and approved guidelines for submissions. Submissions that have restrictions or notes that go against these rules will not be approved and are considered Auto Declined. In addition to these guidelines, some abilities have additional restrictions or notes, usually noted within the respective ability threads. These notes means, for example, A Rank customs must have 2 Handseals, lasts a max of 3 turns and have 1 other restriction applied.



D-Rank Techniques
  • Requires 1 in MIND/BODY/SPRT to use
  • Can boost techniques by 5 damage max.
  • Can extend up to 5 meters
  • No Usage limits
  • No General Duration Limit
C-Rank Techniques
  • Requires 1 in MIND/BODY/SPRT to use
  • Can boost +10 damage max
  • Can boost +5 speed levels ( Not base speed ) if applicable
  • Can extend up to 10 meters
  • No Usage Limits
  • No General Duration Limit
B-Rank Techniques
  • Requires 2 in MIND/BODY/SPRT
  • Can boost +15 damage OR -10 damage max
  • Can boost speed or tracking x2
  • Can extend up to 15 meters
  • Can only be used 5 times max and Lasts 4 turns max
  • Must have at least 1 Handseal
  • Must have 1 Restriction other than Durations ( Handseals not included )
A-Rank Techniques
  • Requires 3 in MIND/BODY/SPRT
  • Can boost +20/1AP or debuff -15 Damage/-1 AP max ( AP reductions only if skill allows for it )
  • Can boost speed or tracking x3
  • Can extend up to 20 meters
  • Can only be used 3 times max and Lasts 3 turns max
  • Must have at least 2 handseals
  • Must have at least 1 Restriction other than Durations ( Handseals not included )
S-Rank Techniques
  • Requires 4 in MIND/BODY/SPRT
  • Can boost +20 Damage/1AP or -20 Damage/-1 AP max ( AP reductions only if skill allows for it )
  • Can boost speed or tracking x3
  • Can extend up to 30 meters
  • Can only be used 2 times max and Lasts 3 turns max
  • Must have at least 3 hand seals
  • Must have 2 Restrictions other than Duration ( Handseals not included )
Forbidden Rank Techniques
  • Requires 5 in MIND/BODY/SPRT
  • Can boost +20/1AP or -15 Damage/-1 AP max ( AP reductions only if skill allows for it )
  • Can boost speed or tracking x3
  • Can cover a full landmark
  • Can only be used 2 times and Lasts 2 turns max
  • Must have at least 3 hand seals
  • Must deal physical or spiritual damage to user
  • Must have at least 2 Restrictions other than Duration ( Handseals not included )


General and Special Ability Guidelines:
  • Speed/Damage increases above x3/+20: In Exchange for increasing these fields above 20 damage or x3 speed, an additional restriction must apply and the technique must be a minimum of S rank. This means a technique that adds 30 damage to a technique must have 3 Restrictions in addition to the duration limit and hand seal usage. Yin-Yang and it's components are allowed to increase damage and speed by higher levels without the need for additional restrictions.
  • Forbidden Rank Summons: Only one Summoning per contract will be allowed to be Forbidden Ranked. If submitted for a canon contract, members can only submit one and these techniques for canon contracts cannot be taught to others.
  • Sentient Weapons: If one's weapon does not have Yang Release, their CW cannot be considered sentient. CWs with more than one form/more than one weapon will be capped at 2 forms or 2 weapons ( such as a sword that changes into a shield or dual swords ). Anything above this will be declined.
  • KiIling Intent: Custom Variants of Killing Intent are not allowed.
  • Body Seals: Fuinjutsu that create seals on the body require Advanced Fuinjutsu. Trigger based Fuinjutsu that absorb/erect barriers have to have the target come into contact with the sealing script before they are triggered. Seals based on the FTG seal are banned.
Specific Fields within the RP have limitations in regards to their submission rules that further outline what they can or cannot do. This is mostly found within ability rules related to those fields. In addition, specifics can be found for most abilities that have limits below. If you are unsure, contact a RP Mod or Sensei for clarity.
  • Dust Release: Dust Based customs as well as it’s CW cannot exceed S rank in submissions.
  • Keigoku: Keigoku customs based on Evil Eye and Tranquil Demon are banned and Keigoku customs cannot be taught to others.
  • Ketsuryūgan: Ketsuryūgan users are capable of manipulating their own blood for attacks or the blood of others via direct contact. They also are capable of extending toxic chakra within others and creating grotesque transformations in the targets of ranging effect. Both the latter abilities require direct contact with targets while manipulation of the user's own blood does not. Genjutsu utilizing the Ketsuryūgan cannot be created.
  • Kinjutsu: Custom Kinjutsu can only be created if obtained via Kumi purchase. One purchase allows for 2 submissions, requiring additional purchases for more slots.
  • Poison Ninjutsu: Custom Poisons, gained via Medjutsu and/or Poison Release, will count as normal CJ and follow CJ templates and guidelines. While the effects may vary, the restrictions such as length as long as a B ranked technique unless specified differently.
  • Rinnegan: Customs can be created for each path except Deva and Outer Paths. Rinnegan Path techniques cannot utilize more Paths than the bio can have open and techniques utilizing more than One Path will count as 2 or more jutsu per turn. Rinnegan customs cannot be taught.
  • Senjutsu Summons: You can create a single Summon with Sage Mode/ Senjutsu per Contract, but it must require that the biography using it has Sage Mode/ Senjutsu themselves (Excluding Sage Transformation bios).
  • Sharingan: You can make up to 3 Blaze Based Techniques if you do not drop Amaterasu/have a canon biography. If you possess an EMS, this increases up to 5. MS Submission rules can be found in more detail in the Custom Doujutsu Submission thread. Sharingan customs cannot be taught.
  • Shinkaigan: Basic Shinkaigan techniques can be submitted at no limit but Cosmic Shinkaigan techniques are limited at 5 max and are based on the user's Shinkaigan Mastery, allowing for Spatial or Temporal based Cosmic Shinkaigan techs. Shinkaigan customs cannot be taught.
  • Swift Release: Swift Customs create linear, unidirectional bursts of speed that greatly enhance the user’s speed and physical movement but this speed enhancement is negated when the user actually attacks. Swift techniques are able to increase speed via direct speed levels, starting at +5 Speed Levels for C ranks and increase by +5 for each subsequent rank til S rank, capping at +20 Speed Levels.
  • Tendōgan: As the Tendogan skills are Gentle Fist skills enhanced, most of its abilities can be used for customs. However, customs based on Kigennomeiyoaruomo or Tenkaitenyajū are not allowed. Tendōgan customs cannot be taught.
  • Tenseigan: Members can make customs based on the Puppet Cursing technique as well as the Creation Tools as Will technique, but gravity based techniques of the Tenseigan Chakra Mode are banned.
  • Yin/Yang: Y/Y techniques are not limited in number if they are the single component fields and cannot be taught to others. Full Yin-Yang techniques cannot be submitted any longer.

Rules for Customs of Special Abilities



Some special fields of customs were banned from being submitted because they pertained to special abilities which, if developed upon in terms of customs, had a high potential for being either Overpowered or Unbalanced. However, after reviewing that long list, we decided to allow some things, though following a minor set of additional guidelines to prevent abuse and to maintain the balance. Keep in mind this list may change, be altered, or even removed entirely over time.



Rules:



    • Each of the customs for the fields listed below is to be submitted in the regular CJ thread
    • These customs cannot be taught, unless noted and can only be used by the creator
    • You must abide by the logic and the usage seen in the manga
    • They must be reasonable and feasible but also balanced; no overpowered submissions
    • All of these special customs count towards your normal custom limit (35 if you are a normal RPer, 45 if you are an Official Sage), unless noted otherwise.
Fields:




    • Rinnegan: You can create customs for each Path excluding Deva Path and Outer Path. Rinnegan Path techniques cannot utilize more Paths than the bio can have open and techniques utilizing more than One Path will count as 2 or more jutsu per turn.
    • Tenseigan: You can create Tenseigan related customs excluding the gravity based abilities.
    • Tendōgan: No customs based on Kigennomeiyoaruomo
    • Sharingan: You can make up to 3 Blaze Based Techniques if you do not drop Amaterasu/have a canon biography. If you possess an EMS, this increases up to 5. Portal and Teleportation based MS submissions are currently banned.
    • Dust Release: You can create 5 Dust Release customs but they cannot be higher than S-Rank.
    • Swift Release: You can create 5 Swift Release Customs melee attacks or defenses.
    • Senjutsu Summons: You can create a single Summon with Sage Mode/ Senjutsu per Contract, but it must require that the biography using it has Sage Mode/ Senjutsu themselves (Excluding Sage Transformation bios).
    • Kinjutsu: You can purchase 2 Kinjutsu customs at a time.
    • Dark/Scorch: CWs for these KGs can be created but cannot exceed S rank.
    • Yin: You can create any number of Yin techniques.
    • Yang: You can create any number of Yang techniques.
    • Yin-Yang: You can only create up to 5 Yin-Yang techniques.
    • Medjutsu: You can have up to 5 Medjutsu customs, able to be taught to others.
Note that this list will be ever growing and evolving to fit the current rules of the RP.

SUBMISSION TYPES

±±Basic Submissions±±
Basic Submissions are customs related to jutsu themselves, such as Custom Jutsu, Custom Fighting Style Jutsu, Custom Clan Jutsu, Custom Summonings, and Custom Element Jutsu. They are seemed basic submissions because they are usually less complex than their counterparts and form the bulk of one's Custom Jutsu arsenal.

±±Custom Fields±±
Custom Fields are the larger categories of customs that aren't Jutsu themselves. These Fields are Custom Clans, Custom Elements, Custom Doujutsu, and Custom Fighting Styles. These are more advanced than the Basic Submissions and as such, are more limited. Techniques from CFS are still submitted in the CFSJ thread but need a mandatory linking to the approved fighting style.​


EDITS AND RESUBMISSIONS

-No one is allowed to edit his/her post after a moderator has already edited it. Resubmit if you feel that your technique needs to be altered in some way
-When resubmitting a custom that was previously declined, you need to quote the original submission and bold the parts you changed in your new submission.
-When one of your techniques was declined with a "Do Not Resubmit/DNR" note, you can't resubmit that technique without the permission of a Staff member​


WEEKLY SUBMISSIONS AND CYCLES

-The custom jutsu thread works through weekly cycles of 7 days, marked by a post done by the staff, that contains the date of the beginning of the cycle and the date the cycle ends. In addition to that, the current cycle can always be checked .
-You can submit 4 Basic Submissions and 2 Custom Fields per cycle. Remember to count your submissions across threads weekly.
-Members start with 40 Custom Techniques of your own. These don't include Custom Fighting Styles ( allowed 2 and a third at Sage rank ) and their techniques ( 10 CFSJ each CFS ), Custom Summoning Contracts ( 2 Contracts and 10 Summonings each ), or Custom Elements ( up to 4 CE, 5 if Sage rank ), Custom Element Jutsu ( 12 Each ). Additional Slots are available for Kumi purchase.
-Each custom is property of only its submitter. If you add a note stating said custom can only be used by you, that custom can't be taught to anyone else. Your custom can't have co-creators.


CUSTOM JUTSU USERS

-Once you get your first custom technique approved you are required to make your own custom jutsu thread in the
-You are required to post every jutsu you made and all jutsu that others allow you to use.
-Each and everyone of your custom techniques posted in your thread needs to be numbered(from #1 to #35).
-When posting your technique, you are required to post the link to the techniques approval, by copying the link to the individual post in which the technique was approved.
-You are forbidden to use any custom technique that isn't posted in your own custom jutsu thread.
-The custom jutsu thread is your responsibility and its your duty to keep it up to date, clean and complete.
-Each custom technique can only be taught to 6 people (this excludes special cases such as Custom Summoning Contracts or Custom Element Jutsu which follow their own guidelines).
-A custom exchange/training cannot be revoked by any of the parties; its permanent.​
