±±Custom Clan±±

Once you have an approved Sage Title, you can make your own custom clan!

Custom clans, CC for short, are, as the name implies, clans that do not appear in the manga/anime and are made by the RPers themselves. Of all the aspects that our RP system consists of, custom clans is probably the number two that speaks the most to the imagination of any RPer, only having to tolerate custom elements before them. Custom clans are overall seen quite powerful. Unlike CE, CC can have a set of custom abilities (logically related with each other), while CE are limited to 'one' ability. Also the logic behind being able to use those abilities is relatively seen less important compared to CE.

Outside 'power', CC also mean 'prestige', just like CE. This is because of the extreme rarity of these clans due to the requirements to make them, the difficulty to get them approved and the limited amount of people that can be in one clan. CE get approved regularly, but CC only on very rare occasions.

±± How to submit a Custom Clan? ±±

1. Step One: Pick the Name and Japanese Translation. Use this to help you. Be sure to name the techniques correctly. Don't use Japanese in Kanji form; use standard Romanji instead.

2. Step Two: Create a History of the Clan.

This section will include a background story on how your specific clan was conceived, where the clan came from and how. It should be detailed enough so that anyone who looks at your clan would be able to tell something very specific about it.

3. Step Three: Explain the Special abilities of your Clan.

This is, by far, the most important section of your entire submission and should be where you spend the most time. In this area you will describe your clans abilities and the mechanics behind the abilities. As far as approval goes, this section will be under the most scrutiny. Don't forget to make it organized and explain clearly, in abilities are are passive and pertain to any bio of your clan, what are their limits and overall context. If your clan uses a special element, then define it and explain it to the fullest degree to make sure all information needed to counter, use or check it iis available. If your clan uses a special genetic trait or characteristic, explain it in full detail, specially in what beneficts or drawbacks it may give the user.

4. Step Four: Location.

It can be a village, a meeting place, a headquarters or something of the like. It does not have to have a hard section on the forum.

5. Step Five: Define a Purpose.

Discuss why your clan exists and what they want to accomplish.

6. Step Six: Special Information.

Discuss a ranking system [if applicable] and other internal details of the Clan. Define what happens and who is in charge in case of the owners inactivity.

7. Step Seven: Requirements.

How does one become a member of the clan? What do they have to do? Can you be kicked out and, if so, how and why?

8. Step Eight: Post and Wait for Approval!

Name:

Here you state the name of your clan.

Founder:

Here you state the name of who made the clan. Co founders can be added, however the original founder has to be an official sage.

Special Abilities:

This is, by far, the most important part of the template and should be where you should spend the most of your time on explaining. Here you will describe your clans abilities and the mechanics behind the abilities. As far as approval goes, this part will be under the most scrutiny. Within this section there are two sub aspects you are required to define:

Passive Traits & Abilities:

Basically, in here you'll explain the passive abilities (if any) that each bio of the custom clan will have access to. Sensory, enhanced hearing, bonus strength, immunities, etc all fit in here. You must make sure its all clear and concise as well as explained clearly as to why and how it works.

Kekkei Genkai (or equivalent):

This section is where you detail the specific trait of your clan. Does it have access to a special element? Does it have some special physical trait? What is the special ability of the clan itself? You can name this section with the name of the special ability of your clan however, it doesn't need to say "kekkei genkai (or equivalent)". Just make sure that within the special abilities of the CC template you have a single section completely dedicated to that special trait your clan has. If its an element, define its weaknesses and strengths, its properties and how it works (for reference, you can use the custom elements template to know the main information you need to refer). If its another trait, just make sure you define it clearly and in a concise manner.

Location:

Here you state where your clan is located. It can be a village like Konoha or Kiri, a meeting place, a headquarters or something of the like. You can also make up your own place, though it still has to be logical (no alternate dimension or whatever).

Purpose:

Discuss here why your organization exists and what they want to accomplish. Does world domination sound like music to your ears?

Special Info:

Here you explain the ranking system [if applicable] and other conditions of members or of the organization itself.

Requirements:

Here you explain how one can become a member? What do they have to do? And what can get you kicked out of the clan?

Updating: House of Katsuryoku
Note: Permission received from Gobi and Detective L on Discord.
Note: I've worked with Gobi on this update, these ideas are not mine alone. Mostly this update is just a rewrite because the approved version was not detailed. All the abilities here were already meant to be possible within the clan, however since it was never "written" or "specifically said to be be able to do that" it wasn't allowed.

Name: House of Katsuryoku
Founder:

History of the Clan:
House of Katsuryoku's history reaches far back into the past, when there were no nations, united villages and whatsoever, but only clans roamed around the shinobi world causing bloodshed to one another, fighting for their desires, sakes and expanding their territories. A branch of 12 skilled warriors, however tired of the reckless killing, decided to band up forming a brotherhood of sorts, to unite all clans under one banner finally creating peace throughout the world.

After successfully capturing land in the northern mountains they constructed a guild house, or a mansion if so to say, within the mountain parts. Once it was built, the twelve warriors made an oath of loyalty mixing their blood, also creating the House of Katsuryoku, despite their origins they saw each other as family. Their principles were based on vitality and fortitude. They started recruiting people into their House, however as servants/warriors, later on if they showed enough worth they was accepted into the House of Katsuryoku as a family member.

Dark times however got bestowed upon their House, when one of the twelve betrayed the House murdering another of the founders. Doubts and havoc spread throughout the House, and eventually ended up in a brawl between the rest of the twelve. Their vision clouded in doubt, hatred and murderous intent caused regretful memories to be created. The last warrior standing among his dead former friends, he with guilt in his gut committed suicide. The followers of the House soon after went extinct, some stayed till their dead, others left the 'blasted mansion' as they called it. And soon after the House of Katsuryoku went extinct.

Though enough of the past, back to the day as it is now. The Nidaime Amekage on one of his departures to the northern mountains, where he practised his own abilities, discovered the mansion of the Katsuryoku House. Reading scrolls about their time, their doings and their fateful end. It was said the twelve warriors was restless and until this very day went about in the graveyard deep within Mt. Katsuryoku, however as spiritual beings. Amaimon discovered the resting place of the House, and eventually made an blood oath to the spirits, spilling his blood and gained access to communicate with the spirits roaming Mt. Katsuryoku, later on becoming what we call a shaman, and the new head of the Katsuryoku House.

Special Abilities:

The House of Katsuryoku is based on shamanistic beliefs, predicated upon the notion that the physical, palpable real world is linked to the unseen spirits that shape the lives of the living, the elements, and nature itself. Though originally thought to be parallel, further study revealed that the Pure World (浄土, Jōdo) was a separate spiritual plane, existing everywhere at once within the real world. Within this world resides Genki. Spirits that are able to move to and from both realms and are able to affect both the pure and impure realms.

1. Willpower

Members of the House of Katsuryoku derive their powers from Spiritual Energy, which is derived from willpower. The potency and stability of Spiritual Energy depend on the conviction of the user. The more disciplined a member's mind and spirit, the stronger they become in shamanistic abilities. With rigorous mental and spiritual conditioning, members can develop a stronger will, which enables them to resist emotions such as fear, pain, anger, love, attachment, passion etc, unless they want to experience them of their own volition. This enables them to develop a pseudo-immunity to emotional manipulation, including techniques such as Killing Intent and other emotion-based abilities or mind trickery.

2. Spiritual Awareness

After developing a stronger will, members can develop a connection between their spirit and the world, allowing them to become aware of their own Kūki no Yōna, and other Spiritual Energy. This enables them to develop a greater awareness of souls, spirits, Genki, unbound spiritual energy, and other similar disturbances. With rigorous training, Katsuryoku users can harmonize their energy with the surrounding spiritual energy in resonance fields and connect the user's perception to disturbances in both the Impure and Pure realms. Katsuryoku users can passively send out pulses of their Kūki no Yōna (Spiritual Energy) within a range and “tune” the surrounding spiritual energy to a common frequency, allowing them to function as extensions of the user's senses across an entire landmark. Since genki exist in both the pure and impure realm to some extent, users can become aware of changes in the both worlds by detecting fluctuations in the spiritual or energetic flow. This allows users to:

Perceive incoming attacks whether or not the attacks are visible to the natural eye, such as hidden or underground attacks, spiritual attacks, etc. As long as the attacks interrupt the flow of Kūki no Yōna it can be detected. Although unable to detect chakra directly, members can perceive changes in chakra by observing its effects on the surrounding Kūki no Yōna. Fire chakra burns through, Water and liquids flow through or wets, lightning tingles etc. Location of targets through obstacles is now not only based on sensing their souls or aura’s but also by detecting the disturbances their physical presence has on the Kūki no Yōna. Perceive changes in states of matter, whether physical (solid to liquid) or between tangible and intangible, such as Genki or techniques affecting physical presence.

3. Genki and Communication

Genki are pure, primal spirits, independent from the souls of the living. They can take the form of simple geometric shapes, undefined shapes, animals, or humanoids. Through training, the Katsuryoku practitioner can sense, see, communicate with, and control these spirits. Communication between the Genki and the user is "instant" similar to Jinchuurikis and can be used to give off warnings. To control Genki, a form of energy exchange is necessary. Unbound Genki spirits roam freely in the Real and Pure Worlds and can sustain themselves with their own natural energy or consuming surrounding unbound spiritual energy, but bound Genki spirits that wish to affect the Real World require the user's chakra or sometimes the users life force to sustain their form and interact with the Real World.

4. Bonding and Blood Oaths

Despite being able to do this with virtually any Genki, high ranking members are capable of permanent bonds with Genki through Blood Oaths, binding powerful spirits to their will. These “Household Genki” are bound to the user's life force rather than constant consumption of chakra and can potentially develop their own characteristics based on the strength of their bond or mutual agreement. More powerful Genki require greater sacrifices in blood or flesh to bind with the user. Weaker Genki can potentially sustain themselves on chakra alone, others feed on physical energy or spiritual energy of all organic matter. All Genki are only visible to the clan members but are invisible to everyone else in the real world until called upon to enter the real world. To interact with the Real World, Genki feed on either the user’s own Kūki no Yōna, a raw form of spiritual energy that can be imbued with different properties, to make constructs or anything the user can imagine, (e.g. flame like Kūki no Yōna will burn etc.) Kūki no Yōna takes a different color based on the user's personality and character, or physical energy from their surroundings. Genki have a tendency of being intangible since they can be passed through by physical matter. However, they can be affected by some energies such as magnetism and gravity. The interaction with Genki can be affected by special techniques such as some Doujutsu Genjutsu, special Yamanaka Clan techniques, Yin Release, and other spiritual-based techniques. Genjutsu and physical attacks have no interaction with Genki. Genki can also share these properties with people and techniques in order to enable phasing by coating and transporting them into the pure realm.

5. Possession, Infusion & Astral Projection

The highest level of the Clan’s abilities are possession, infusion and astral projection. Possession enables Genki to occupy a member or inanimate object. There are two main forms of Possession:

Object Infusion: The Genki infuses with objects. It can improve the objects or allow the objects to function independently. A turtle based Genki can improve the defensive capabilities of an object, or rocks can be molded into an animal for combat. This also allows the object to gain some traits of the Genki.

Body Infusion: The Genki fuses with a living host, constantly fluctuating their chakra to purge foreign chakra. There are 3 types of body infusion:

Partial Infusion: The spirit gives the host supporting powers but does not take complete control over the host. This also gives the host enhanced senses, precognition, aura detection, or other supporting powers (defence/attack boosts etc.)

Fullbody Infusion: The spirit and host share a single mind, creating perfect unification. If the host loses consciousness, the spirit maintains control and continues to battle. This also gives the host enhanced senses, precognition, aura detection, or other supporting powers (defence/attack boosts etc.)

Reverse Infusion: By using extreme mastery over infusions, the user can release their physical form and totally fuse with a Genki allowing them full access to the Pure and Impure realms. In this form, the user's body, mind, and chakra are totally fused with the Genki, essentially making them a Genki. During this time, all rules and restrictions concerning Genki, including intangibility and susceptibility to certain physical energies are applicable to the user. This is a highly draining process and can only last for short periods because the user is totally dependent on their own chakra and life force to sustain their presence and functionality in their Genki form. This type of infusion is very hard to master and as such is only available to Katusuryoku Elders and The Katsuryoku Voice.

Astral Projection:
This is a freeform ability that allows the user to leave their body and possess a Genki for supplementary uses in some scenarios of battle. However, the user must meditate and focus and upon achieving this state and leaving his body, will leave it vulnerable to attacks and completely helpless. Without the user's spirit inside it, the body cannot house a Genki and the user cannot control other Genki to assist them in battle.

Location: The ‘House’ resides in a mountain range, on the highest peak of the Tobusekai, named Mt. Katsuryoku. In the past, the mountain’s peak reached far beyond the clouds, meaning most of the top was covered in unhampered ice, and the rest in complete white snow. At the mountain’s foot, was a small narrow trail led up the mountain side in a zig-zagged manner, reaching around the mountain itself. And at last, ended at the Katsuryoku Mansion. While it was quite literally an uphill struggle, the forces of Millicent were able to assault the Katsuryoku's home, forcing them to abandon the mountain, or fall to the Rot. The mountain's once glorious facade was now stained with a deep crimson, running down the side in a sight reminiscent of a volcano, though one that spews forth ichor and vile abomination-spawning mud.

Landmark Update (4/17/26) by Faye Katsuryokyu
Mount Katsuryoku, previously having been overrun by a mysterious organic substance, was retaken and restored. It is now encircled by a ring of molten bismuth at its base, which serves as a glowing moat all around the mountain. There is only one earthen bridge crossing the molten metal. Beyond that, there is an internal corridor, carved out within the mountain, which is dark and spirals up to the peak. Along the inside of this crafted cave system, veins of bismuth, set in the stone, shine with colors of the spectrum, giving off an otherworldly glow. The peak itself is hidden behind massive natural stone, invisible from the outside. Atop the mountain, the rebuilt Katsuryoku mansion, a fortified monastery, open only to the sky, made stronger with earth and connected to the metallic veins within the mountain. The inhabitants of the Pure World (Genki), layered on top of the mountain and through its corridor. Should any non-Katsuryoku attempt to enter, they will feel incredibly drowsy and/or perturbed as the spirits pass through them (this carries no inherent damage or restrictive effects). Those approaching the peak from the top will be swarmed by the Genki, and will experience the same effects as described.

Purpose: The House does not carry a specific purpose anymore, thus it will remain undefined. Each member of the Katsuryoku House may use their abilities for what they may deem right.

Special Info: Something that is inherited after severe usage of the House's clan techniques would be a grayish tint to either of their eyes, followed that the pupil may become completely gray. Their skin loses some colour to it, and they may even gain gray streaks through their hair. The reason is unknown but it the traits tends to signify an experienced user.

A second feather is given to Household members of this rank, signifying their improvements. These are most often worn in headbands, or on their clothes.
