Did any feel like the curse of hatred explained in the bottom panel is a just a copout explanation for the ridiculously rushed/unrealistic descent of Obito?

The explanation could have been given at any time in the manga, so why after Obito? Why not after Sasuke? Well, it's because Sasuke's case is self explanatory. It's realistic and we can expect normal humans to behave this way.

Obito's was not. That was why Kishi put that panel after. It was to placate the angry fans complaining about how unreal Obito is.

"oh, I see, Obito's an Uchiha, it makes sense now, him going completely crazy, sadistic, and psychopath was due to the death of one person, something everybody faces"

I know Kishi cleaned it up a bit more with the recent chapters, but that was the feeling I got back then, and even with the recent cleanup, the damage was done.

It explained Madara and Sasuke perfectly too though, not just Obito...plus whenever we saw someone activate their Sharingan (Obito, Sasuke), it was at a critical point where emotions were high. Even in the Naruto vs Sasuke fight when Sasuke activated his 3rd tomoe after "severing ties" with Naruto we can relate it to him actually feeling sad about it. It may have been a cop out in a way but at least it makes some sense.

If you think about it from an author's perspective, it makes complete sense to place such a moment after the major climactic moment (AKA Obito reveal).

From a Narutoverse prospective, though, the only person who seemed to have a scientific explanation was Senju Tobirama. Orochimaru never was able to experiment on Sasuke's Sharingan, and there were not any other Uchiha connoisseurs to clear it up. This is probably the first major speaking role Tobirama has had in the entire series, since he was truly "dead" prior to this.

I don't think Kishimoto meant this scene to come off as "ok so Obito really is a nut-job," I think this was meant to clarify why folks such as Obito, Itachi, Sasuke, and Madara awakened their Sharingan.

NOTE: Please don't yell at me, I'm just debating :mew:

no
it explains why sasuke's chakra started resembling genjutsu and got colder and darker when he was using his mangekyou sharingan
You must be registered for see images
the special chakra that sprouts is yin chakra its because their descendants of the elder son who inherited the sage's yin chakra
yin means cold, dark, and hatred etc that's why it makes them like that
kishi didn't use it as a copout he used it to explain that
