Kimimaro in the previously shown panel is seen removing his spine, this is a crucial sign in which shows he can regenerate instantaneously. To realize why this is, one must know what the spine's role is within the human body:

You are using real life logic, which is wrong. Kimimaro's Kekkei Genkai ( it would be awkward if he would die/paralyze after ripping out his own spine ) allowed him all those things and not his 'regeneration'. Also your scan proved my point, Kimimaro creates small layer of bones under his skins, that's why it seems like he is regenerating. He can manipulate his bones, but not his organs.
