Base Minato was already stronger than Itachi, now that he has KCM he's way above Itachi. I bet if Minato one-shot Juubi, people would still find a way to damage control their way to putting Itachi above Minato.
Itachi is one of the most well-rounded fighters in the series. He has high level ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, speed, reflexes, thrown weapon skills, analytical skills, and can plan several steps ahead.

He but lacks stamina.
From what we've seen, Minato only has speed, reflexes, space/time ninjutsu, rasengan, toad summoning, analytical skills and some sealing techniques. All of his fights are slick applications of FTG and he, at most, plans only one step ahead (well I guess one step ahead is all you need when you're fighting someone of Raikage intellect ).
The main consensus from Minato fanboys is "he's just too fast for Itachi." While there's no question that Minato is fast, Itachi's speed is no joke either.
Itachi was quick enough to react to real lightning which can reach the ground in 1/1000 of a second and is several hundred times faster than the speed of sound.

Several means more than one, so lets say 200 times the speed of sound which is roughly 68058 meters per second. Yeah obviously Itachi can't move that fast but his eyes can see and process at that speed, which is easily enough to bring out suanoo in time if Minato tries to straight up blitz. Itachi uses it at the last second because he REALIZES HIS STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (low stamina) and changes his game according (for those that think Itachi will be dumb and waste away his chakra).
But can Minato keep up with Itachi's sleight of hand? You may have some slick moves, but listen son...NOBODY IS SLICKER THAN ITACHI. Minato will get his ankles broken lol. Son...Kakashi couldn't even keep up and Kakashi is no p*ssy.

FTG? lol FTG only works on noobs like Raikage who rely on strength and speed. Raikage easily figured out how FTG worked and was ready to intercept a teleportation to one of the kunais, but that's irrelevant because B knew where Minato would teleport lol.

Obito got owned because he tried to win in a contest of speed. Throwing the special kunais at Itachi doesn't work either, Itachi is a boss at thrown weapons and will deflect with some shiruken.
Minato can't do anything vs susanoo. All Itachi really has to do is look at Minato and it's GG. I'm not sure why some people seem to think that being a 'genius' automatically gives you genjutsu immunity. Kakashi is considered a genius, has the sharingan, and still got owned by tsukiyomi. Regular sharingan is still no joke, Orochimaru got owned by it and Orochimaru is no p*ssy either.

Heck, Itachi doesn't even have to make eye contact since the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

Let's face it, once you are in genjutsu, you are a child to Itachi. And he only does the crow thing when he wants to fck around, haha.
OFF-TOPIC
I'm not a hater but this is how I feel in regards to Minato and Naruto's fighting style:

Yeah, it's cool that you can use shadow clones to analyze the situation but sending your real body first to trick kakuzu and land rasenshuriken isn't really mind-blowing lol. Ok, I admit the FTG-to-rasengan on Obito was a pretty fking awesome but I really can't see a mind-blowing application of FTG outside of that particular context. I just find it more interesting when a fighter uses skill and cunning to win instead of a head-on approach. This is what made battles with Kakashi, Itachi, Shikamaru, and Sasuke so much more interesting.
Except for tsunade itachi never was nor will ever be equal to any of the hokage ... Deal with it
Does it strike you at all funny that the only ppl saying itachi is strongeror equal have itachi and some word of praise to him on either their sig, ava or name?
Most of the others say minato is stronger
Itachi HAD to be as strong as Minato at one point, from what we've seen Itachi has been very sick and therefore at one point, he was more fit then he is right now. Most of the people are judging Itachi by that time date because we've seen the most of his abilities, so by logic the Itachi from the past was most likely stronger then what you're seeing him as. Honestly, I can find a counter to everyone of the majority of Minato's attacks.
(Without Kurama's Chakra)
In general, he'd scatter his kunai's or just throw it directly at Itachi. If he does scatter it, Itachi uses amaterasu on the kunai's while in mid air, which means Minato won't have his unbelievable speed (he won't be able to get all of them of course). If he throws it directly, Itachi could just throw his kunai's at them and block all of them (he's been shown to be very skilled with Kunai's). He could also use a fireball jutsu on them or block it with his yata mirror.
Minato's speed depends on if there are kunai's available, the amount of them, and there location. (If they're too close to each other, then that's just redundant). So, in those circumstances Minato wouldn't have a way to win without Kurama.
And finally, old Minato hadn't shown any signs of being able to use Kurama's chakra properly and at one point he didn't even had it, so therefore at one point Itachi HAD to be stronger than Minato. (Depending on what timeline Itachi is given).
they are good at debating but their logic and judgement was blurred by their fanboyism. everybody knows and they know that minato>itachi edo or not. they are just in denial.
even kishimoto knows itachi is useless so he decided not to revive him against godlike characters
I disagree with this, Itachi wouldn't have his stamina problem as Edo, which is alive Itachi's biggest con. He would also have unlimited chakra. So, I'd give it to Itachi.
