PS slash didn't kill base Hashirama who simply out ran it with ease U_U Itachi is faster than him, also Nagato mobile version can simply negate the PS slash wave with his own ST U_U

However PS hardly tanks the massive ST. Also Itachi lights up Madara via Amaterasu, EMS Madara has no counter except shielding with Susanoo and since Aamterasu never goes off it'll keep burning PS.
