^^i agree with this... kakashi has much more versatility (i.e. genjutsu, wide array of ninjutsu, MS, etc.) and more strategic prowess (tactics against kakuzu/hidan, pain, etc.). however, gai is much stronger and faster in terms of physical ability, and gai's insane speed in 6+ gates is above kakashi's level, imo. though, as stated previously, it really could go either way. they've known and fought each other for many years, they are practically equals.

he's only opened the first gate in canon, and if i remember correctly kakashi stated that it takes a worse toll on his body since he is not used to them like gai/lee.
