Tailed Beasts 2-7's Bijudamas were all mountain busters. Its fair to assume that the Shukaku's would be as well. Also, I can't see Gaara blocking a mountain buster, even if he did block C3 I dont see him blocking Bijudama. Bijudama is just stronger.

Gaara's sand was spread thin over the entire village and still blocked C3. Imagine all of it concentrated behind the TBB, and then the sand is made at a certain angle, and the TBB ricochets, it's essentially a giant bullet. Or musketball, but regardless, it ricochets.

Gaara. They didn't really power down Gaara at all as far as the reader can tell, while Shukaku could already be taken down by Gaara's dad (who he himself is better than). One Tail sucks.

Or so you speculate. Certainly nobody else was visible at the time, and the 4th mentions nobody else when he describes how he would stop the One Tail with his sand. Either way, this is still Gaara.
