So there are a whole lot of theories on their origin. But noone ever mentions the canon origins of how they have been formed.

Clear ups

Lineage =lineal descent from an ancestor; ancestry or pedigree.

Clan = 2. A division of a tribe tracing descent from a common ancestor.
3. A large group of relatives, friends, or associates.

Senju Lineage = The lineage descended from the Younger son

Senju clan = a clan formed from the lineage

Starting:

The senju blood line hadn't always been a clan, it was over time that the bloodline of the younger son became a clan. So with this it makes perfect Sense why the Senju CLAN and Uzumaki CLAN of Hashirama's time were stated to be distant blood relatives by Kushina.

Because as I recall, Zetsu ( the all knowing) stated Nagato to be from the Senju Lineage. Now people will say this refers to the term of kinship. So here is the definition of kinship : blood relationship.

So one thing is for sure that the lineage of the Uzumaki clan is the same as the lineage of the Senju clan.

Main character and Connections:

Blood of the main character:

I am aware that the main character is a Uzumaki. And I'm also aware that Senju clan that formed the village and Uzumaki clan that naruto is from were related by blood. So through blood Naruto is also Senju.

The people he represents:

Naruto represents the Senju in the whole Senju vs Uchiha. And the character hes compared to are :

-Rikudou
-Younger son
- Hashirama

All of which were Senju (Rikudou was part senju , and had the same philosophy of a Senju). The representation of Hashirama and Rikudou is shown very highly by Kishimoto in the past few chapter. So in all of that he represents the Senju philosophy also.

Conclusion:

In the end Uzumaki clan and Senju clan are from the same Lineage .. the Senju lineage. Now people are bound to make stupid comments like " Are you saying Uzumaki are from the Senju clan?" no.. I stated they are from the same LINEAGE. Not clan. They are 2 different clans but share the ancestor that is the younger son. In the end Uzumaki are Senju in terms of their lineage. But they are uzumaki by clan.

clan =/= lineage

Same reason why only the Senju associated with the Uzumaki and Not Uchiha.. cause the Uzumaki aren't from the lineage of Uchiha.

Purpose

I always see theories of Uzumaki origins taken as fact, but people always forget their true origins. And hardly anyone mentions them, without adding on their philosophy.

Nice thought. I agree with this, based on the current manga facts.

The only real evidence we have is a Tobi retelling of Rikudou's life. A retelling that he probably got from Madara. We've got a tablet with very little content and a world of mysteries. We don't know the conception of these brothers or how they reacted with Rikudou.

We also never saw said interaction of the Senju and Uzumaki besides Mito*... What I'm trying to say is "Canon Origins" and "Manga facts" on this current topic is actually rather irrelevant considering how so much of this can be misconstrued.

And a Zetsu is far from reliable. The sage might appear in Naruto's subconscious and give his own telling of his life. Let us wait for that.

But yes, I'm still waiting for a S06P appearance in some way, shape, or form. :)

I believe this is considered a interaction.

So your saying Madara's info is bad.. even though everything he has said has turned out to be true so far.

And I'm for waiting to. But I just wanted to state the current "canon" meaning manga supported evaluation of the origins of the Uzumaki clan. Not saying these are the origins, but saying these are the origins supported by the manga.

I didn't say the interaction didn't exist. We just never saw the implications or the words exchanged. What i meant by "said interactions"... Should have worded it better, sorry. All we know is that they got together and posed like ganstas. Apparently they were allies with Konoha, but when they got their village destroyed... Konoha didn't seem to help out much there.

Not enough to bridge a full interaction between two distinct groups or make their connection viable. I know it's there, but what it entails is still more than a mystery. Again, Zetsus, Tobi and a lot of questions. I personally still think the Uzumakis were first. A zetsu isn't really good enough to say otherwise.

But, alas, difference of opinions  I see your point KingHashirama.

Check the symbol on the back of Konoha's flack jackets -> Uzumaki whirlpool symbol. They still wear it as a sign of respect, the two clans were very close ;)

Hm well you have to consider that the destruction of the Uzumaki happened in one of the wars most likely.
