This day was no different than any other day, as I ready myself for bed. After a long day of work, I was overly eager to lie my head in rest. I turned off the table lamp next to my bed,and set my alarm clock to 7am. Tomorrow I was to go to some get together with some friends. To celebrate one of their kid's birthday, he turning ten. As I lied there I recollected the events that happened this week. I had gotten him some of those playing cards, kids were playing monster battle. But I had the feeling, I wasn't the only one going to get him this. He had pleaded to his mom to get him this on many occasions. So I did some research on these card to find out more about them. After all it was my job as the favorite uncle, the part I had gladly accepted not having any children of my own. Going out of my way I'd learned that there were some card that had more value than others. I know what to get him, a card called "shadows' call" and on it a picture of three shadowy figures staring back. But to no avail I couldn't find it, then looked up on my computer if anyone was selling one. To my luck there was an old shop just out side of town that had it. When I'd got there was an elderly man in his maybe his late sixties or seventies sweeping the old wooden stairs which led in to the shop. He waved me over with a look of delight on his face, as if expecting my arrival. I followed the old man in to his shop which creaked with every step I'd taken. And before I could tell him what I'd come for he placed a seemingly new card on the counter, and asked me am I sure that this is what I wanted. I just noded my head as to say yes. Without a word handed me the card, as I started to get my wallet he stop me with jester of his hand as to say stop. As I thank him he smiled and said "no thank you". As was on my way home I pick up some gift wrapping to wrap it with the other card I'd gotten. And before I knew it I'd fallen a sleep, and in front of me stood the shop keep from earlier with that same smile on his old. As his smiles dulled his skin blackened and his eyes lighten up like a cars head light. He spoke or tried to but no sound came out, suddenly shadows began to chase me like a tide of darkness. I dashed away from the shadow fast as my legs would carry me, but I seemed to be going nowhere. So as the darkness began consuming me, I awoke to a shadowy figure looming over me at my bed side. Just looking at me with it bright yellow eyes. I'm trying to move but I can't, then it reach its long blackened fingers for my face. I shut my eyes tight, and froze hoping it would make it quick. First a minute pasted then two then five, nothing happening. I finally mustered the courage to open my eyes, it's gone. I dashed for the light switch turn it on, it has to be that card that old man gave me but how. I slowly moved toward the card there it was, but some thing was off about in. Then I noticed the on the card there were only two shadow, and no three like earlier. A chill when up my spine, at first light I went the shop. To my surprise it was gone as if it had never been. So I asked around but no one knew of it. So I threw it in a nearby trashcan and went home to get ready to for the party. And there it was laying there on my doorstep. Today I was found dead in my home, after my friends came to ask me why I didn't show. You may ask yourself how I'm telling this story, because I'm one with the shadows. And if your reading this you here my call.
