Creative Writing Competition​

Welcome to the creative writing competition, which is exactly as a it sounds. A competition that will be held monthly giving people a chance to show their creative writing skills. Each month a theme will be chosen along with a writing style. Member may then opt to take part by doing a piece of creative writing based on the theme given. A few examples of this would be the type of writing, be it: Poetry, Short story, fan fiction, the possibilities are endless while giving everyone a chance to show and develop their individual skills. Along with the type of writing, there will also be a theme given. A few examples of this could be that the type is a poem and the theme is Autumn, where you would need to submit a poem based on the season, or another example could be that the type is a short story and the theme is a murder mystery, where you could simply do the introduction to a story based on a murder. The possibilities are endless. There are a few things to note though:​ The competition will be held monthly The submissions will be posted in the submission thread each month within the first three weeks, then final week will be left for people to vote on the best piece and the winner announced at the end of each month. Each month there will be a Theme and Type of writing, being different each month. The Theme and Type of Writing for each month will be open to all suggestions and ideas, which will be discussed in the [insert hyperlink to discussion thread]. Though, we will try to vary this as much as a possible to ensure everyone has a chance to showcase their different skills. No cheating will be tolerated. If you are found to be copying someone else's work and posting it as your own, you'll be banned from the competition. Everyone is allowed to take part but only make one submission per month. Though you are free to change this submission before the voting begins. Submissions ​ A new thread will be made weekly for submissions, outlining the Theme and Type of writing, in that thread you will make your submission using the following template. Template Username: Piece title: Submission: ~I wish to take part and agreed to abide by the contest rules~ Prizes ​ Now what would a competition be without a bit of incentive, and so with this there will be Prizes for the First, Second & Third place.
