I think Creationism should be banned in ALL schools, including private schools too. Here's why:

1. It provides no education to those learning about it.

2. It is basically a pseudoscience, it claims to be creation science but in reality it does not follow the scientific method.

3. Doesn't make sense either, teaches that humans coexisted with dinosaurs when this is not true. Humans came long after dinosaurs.

4. It also has tons of baseless assumptions, such as a god or supreme being creating the earth or that the earth itself is about 6,000 to/or 10,000 years old.

5. In other words, not science material or educational material.

People should be able to learn those things by choice.

It shouldn't be a mandatory thing.

I don't see the point of teaching creationism in school. That's what Church is for.

They can learn about it at home. But when it's in the classroom and you talk about it you're infecting other people with your beliefs. In the classroom you're supposed to get EDUCATED. You can learn about it at home.

Completely agree. Creationism is pure rubbish with no theory, research or facts to back it up. It has all been disproven, yet religious fanatics, who live inside of a box, cling to it with their ignorance.
The fact that this could actually be taught in schools and be labelled educational is nothing short of sickening.

Thanks for your opinion. Have you ever been educated in a Christian or faith-teaching school? I'm assuming not, so you really have no place to judge.

Most of us will believe what we've been fed, it'll take time to truly understand what's going on.

Unfortunately, private schools can do what they want but if it's a public school then it definitely shouldn't be taught. Education should be included under separation of church and state. It's wrong to teach the beliefs of one religion when there are so many different ones.

Even tho evolution is a theory, it's still based in science so there's noting wrong with teaching it in a science class. I don't see why some parents freak out over it so much. Gravity is only a theory but students still learn about that.

If I had a child I'd prefer they learned about the theory of evolution over Creationism.

Throughout my entire life I have only been in one public school. The rest were Catholic and christian. The last christian school I went to taught Young-Earth Creationism.

Both should be taught!
Creation is true if ur one of the billions who believe in either jewism, Christianity, Islam, etc. Even old native americans had stories of a god creating everything. It has a rich history. It should b thought in a history class.
Evolution is something that makes sense but till we find an animal that is actually changing naturally without us doing it I'm still skeptic. Also the fact that that nothing made everything is slightly hard to imagine. So yep that's my stance on it.

To recap. Evolution in science class.
Creationism in history class

I live in the Bible Belt and they teach Evolution so your point is irrelevant. At least, concerning where I live.

Go cry moar

Not sure which school you went to. Dutch school don't teach creationism at all.
Plus, why does it bother you so much? More than half of the world believes in creationism, so you having more insight about it would enable you to discuss about creationism and look at things differently. The more knowledge, the better.

edit: Both should be taught.

The teachings of private schools arent slways good. My local news station recently ran a segment about a private school here. They gave an example of a test given to students. It was shit like:

Humans lived with dinosaurs. True or False
What were the names of the first two humans?
What is the history book of the universe? (Answer was bible)

The pic of the quiz went viral -_- idiots always embarrassing our state
