This is a theory has been delayed for a month because Void Century stuff don't interest me much. There have been many theories on the Void Century but I'm personally not too interested in that. What catches my attention is how the OP world came to be and the location of the Ancient Kingdom. Some parts of this theory may sound outrageous in a bad way...
When it comes to Void Century topics, I my gears get grinded because no one never mentions this:
The Ohara Tree of Omniscience.
The Ohara is 5000 years old and its library is the most ancient structure in the OP world, hinting that the OP world isn't that old or at least, humans didn't live on the planet for that long.
That tree also looks quite familiar to me:
The Void Century theory created by @beck26 explains some of the following:
1-Pluton is made from Treasure Tree Adam and Poseidon is linked to Sunlight Tree Eve.
I say Uranus was made from the Ohara Tree of Omniscience.
2)Uranus- if used by evil, it will create curses. If used by good, it'll free the souls trapped in DFs.
Poseidon- if used by evil, it will create monsters. If used by good, it'll bring forth a new race to the land.
Pluton- if used by evil, it will create monsters. If used by good, it will destroy the division called the Red Line.
I say:
Uranus- Give them life.
Poseidon-Give them purpose
Plution-give them death
Key words=Give them life.
The other name for the Ohara Tree is the Tree of Knowledge. Oda drew inspiration from the Bible in Christianity or more specifically, the book of Genesis.
In Genesis, God created/gave life to the humans Adam and Eve. He also created the Tree of knowledge and warned to not eat the fruit off the tree(Uranus gave rise to forbidden devil fruits).
The Ohara Tree was the original Uranus and the Devil Fruit Tree was modeled after Uranus and the Ohara Tree also.
I'll get to the rest of this later.
The Void Century theory created by @Celestial D. Dragon explained the similarities between Final Fantasy and One Piece:
The Lunarians: As the Lunarian's planet was about to be destroyed they fled to the "Blue Planet" otherwise known as Earth. Upon arriving on Earth, they realized that the Humans who occupied the World, were still in the process of evolution, and they came to the conclusion that they could not yet co-exist with them. The Lunarians therefore created an artificial moon to live on, while they awaited the day they could peacefully co-exist with humans. There was one Lunarian named Zemus however who did not share the same views as the others, and believed they should eradicate the humans, and keep the Earth for the Lunarians.
This implies that winged people visited earth more than once and that all humans came from space.

Now lets put all the pieces together.
Beings from space found the OP planet but it wasn't to their liking. Animals dominated the planet and sea levels were a lot higher. Some of the space people didn't think the planet was good enough but some of them thought it was possible to live on the planet. The space people eventually split up and the ones who stayed on the planet scattered across the world, pretty much becoming the first humans.
However, there a clan of the space people that stayed behind who was still on the fence on whether the planet was good enough or not, so they planted a large tree that eventually became the original Uranus tree(then later Ohara tree). The tree originally had gems in it like the Uranus staff. The power of the Uranus tree allowed the clan to manipulate and bend the souls of living things and it was used as a counter measure against the number of savage beasts of the planet. They used the Uranus Tree to give life and the living beings on the planet began to evolve.
It caused the clan to evlove as well as it gave them wings. The clan ultimately decided that the planet wasn't good enough YET so they decided to remove the gems from the Uranus tree(which made it into a regular but sturdy tree), and used the wood from the tree to make a staff which became the 2nd Uranus. They used their space ships to leave the planet to reside on the planet's moon and waited for the planet to evolve to the point of their liking.
Down in the blue sea, Fish became humans(Fishmen), Humans became fish(Mermaids), Fish became animals(those animal sea king hybrids) and Animals became humans(Minkmen). Humans also evolved into different branches such as giants, tontattas, long arms and long legs who, over the thousands of years, developed their own ways of life, societies and kingdoms.
During the passing of the centuries, 2 key developments happened:
1st, the remaining space people(with ability users) reunited with the winged people on the moon. After learning of the plans of the winged people, the other clans decided to create artificial moons around the planet to live on which lowered the sea levels of the planet.
2nd, a certain clan known as 'D' became the most prosperous kingdom of them all. Due to their courage and adventurous spirits, they were able to tame some of the dangerous beasts of the OP world and discover more material and resources for their kingdom. They also owe their success to an ability known as Haki, that they discovered by chance when they were in danger. They owe this to the weapon Uranus altering the souls of their ancestors years ago.
CoA=Strength of body
CoO=Strength of mind
CoC=Strength of heart, spirit and soul
The OP world was almost to the liking of the moon people, but there was a problem: the moon people of ability users wanted to wipe out the non-human races and forcefully take over and the winged people were against that.
War broke out between the moons and in order to combat the crazy abilities of their enemies, the winged people created dials and automatas but eventually ran out of resources. The winged people had no choice but to retreat to the OP world below where they resided in the sky islands and Jaya. Afterwards, the winged people meet Joyboy and they fought together in a war blah blah.

Now then, we know the Ancient Kingdom obviously lost the war but the question is, where is the Ancient Kingdom? What happened to it?
Know what Robin is talking about? Remember what happened with Ohara? That's right.
The Ancient Kingdom was the first victim of the now infamous Buster Call.
The Kingdom was sunk and lost at sea very similar to the City of Atlantis.
Did you know that the Ancient Kingdom and the things directly involved with it is based off Greek Mythology?

The City of Atlantis was a Greek city lead by the titan Atlas. Atlas was the titan of astronomy and navigation. Atlas and his brother Menoetius sided with the Titans in their war against the Olympians, the Titanomachy. When the Titans were defeated, many of them (including Menoetius) were confined to Tartarus, but Zeus condemned Atlas to stand at the western edge of Gaia (the Earth) and hold up The Heavens on his shoulders.

To find the Ancient Kingdom, a strong navigator is required.
Lets go into more detail on what led the AK's destruction. The Ancient Kingdom of D were betrayed by the Marshall D family who stole Uranus, gave it to the 20 kingdoms and gave away vital info and plans about the Ancient Kingdom. With the info, the 20 Kingdoms stopped the Ancient Kingdom's construction of the Pluton and ambushed many of the AK's army camps. The 20 kingdoms then used their army of ability users construct a giant wall known as the Red Line , which made it difficult Joyboy and his allies to regroup and meet with each other.
Realizing that the end was near, the AK decided to carve their history on indestructible stone known as the poneglyphs and Joyboy wrote an apology letter to Poseidon. Joyboy was unable to apologize to Poseidon directly because he knew he was going to die soon and Poseidon was absent during this point as she was dealing with the madness of Vander Decken I on Fishman Island.
Joyboy and his allies knew that a fleet of warships was on its why to sink the Kingdom their kingdom but they had to immortalize their history at any cost. Since there was very little time left after the AK finished the history, Joyboy made a decision. Similar to how Atlas held the world on his shoulders, Joyboy held everyone's fear and fate on his shoulders and sacrificed himself to ensure his fellow D, allies and history made it out safely.
Joyboy was killed by the Buster Call and went down with the Ancient Kingdom. Poseidon inevitably found out and was devastated. She ordered her sea kings to left and carry the Ancient Kingdom remains(with Joyboy) to an area inside the Red Line that she also had her sea kings create; The Reverse Mountain. To ensure that no one unworthy would disturb the AK remains, Poseidon had her sea kings alter the flow and tides of the sea to create the calm belt and grand line, with the entrance to inside the Reverse Mountain lying in the calm belt protected by her sea kings.
The Reverse Mountain consists of a water system complete with undersea volcanoes, which over the centuries, helped rebuild the Ancient Kingdom into a city of Emeralds. The Emerald City is the Ancient Kingdom and holds the grave of Joyboy.
The Ancient Kingdom is located inside the Reverse Mountain.
Lastly, take a look at this "silhouette" of the Ancient Kingdom.
