If you believe that man's mind came from evolution, and you also believe that religion was created by man's mind, then religion is a direct byproduct of evolution! If evolution created religion, then religion is part of that evolution.

I agree. But that's assuming that a) evolution happened and b) religion was created by man's mind. I'd logically argue that a) evolution didn't happen and b) true religion, such as that which I am a part of, is not created from man. But such are 2 different questions for another time! But, if those 2 things are believed by someone, then I completely agree

So, you're talking about the evolution of consciousness? If so, let me add that we're probably in a age right now in which religion loses its value in a positive way. We're starting to mentally grow over the mental boundaries that most organized religions teach. Reasoning and kindness slowly progressing.
