So I thought of this crazy question:

Say there was a closed sliding door like the a Shōji:

You must be registered for see images

The unique thing about this door is it's length is infinite also the ground it sits on is infinite.
(don't worry it is a completely weightless door)

Someone comes along and opens the door

This is where it is contradicting:

Infinite goes on forever

So if the person could open the door would it mean that they just increased the distance of infinite?

Or if the door would not open, would it mean that infinite has an end?

But is he really moving the door when he opens it? Or is the frame moving? :hint:

Perspective. Welcome to physics.

We're going to jump head first through the door without sliding it.

The ground and door's length can't be infinite in reality. The infinite is nowhere to be found in reality.
It neither exists in nature nor provides a legitimate basis for rational thought…The role that remains for the infinite to play is solely that of an idea.

Take the distance between two points, one may argue that you can subdivide the distance into infinite parts, but you will always be subdividing and never actually reach the ‘infinitieth’ part! So in reality the infinite is potential and can never be actualised.

The door isn't infinite.

The first comment answered your question, if the space outside the door isn't infinite and the door itself isn't infinite, how can you increase infinity.
