I havent posted in a long ass time mainly due to the sad realization that this website is dying in its own redundancy but i thought for my return id post a brief anecdote of an incident that occurred a few months ago that some of you may find amusing.
So for my senior homecoming some friends and i decided that purchasing shrooms was the best way to maximize our enjoyment of the night's festivities. I had used shrooms a few times before, and it had quickly become my drug of choice. Seeing as it was homecoming i figured that i should step it up and buy two 40 dollar pills of shroom extract (8Gs total) as opposed to the recommended dosage of 4Gs. Anyways so that night everything was going as normal; pictures, dinner, dance etc. I took the first pill a little after the dance ended in the hopes that it would kick in just as we got to whatever party we ended up going to. Unfortunately for our entire grade, no one was stepping up to have one. Out of desperation, we began to call around and luckily for us some of our friends from last year were back from college for break and invited us to a party right across from our school.
Fast forward about two hours later and i still didnt feel a thing. I was beyond pissed. I had spent countless dollars in the past on the quest for shrooms that actually worked and i couldnt stand the thought of having wasted another 80 dollars on duds. I decided to bury my misery and disappointment in alcohol. In hindsight this was an awful decision. I began to grow even more depressed in my drunken haze. One at the waste of money on dud shrooms and two because it is impossible to enjoy yourself when youre surrounded by once cool people who now are trying to project their new images onto their old friends in the vain hopes of impressing them. Bored to death of the poseurs and try-hards, i took the second pill just for shits. That pill going down my throat is my last clear memory.
Fast forward to 8 AM the following morning: I awake to it raining on my face soaking wet as i get up from sleeping on rocks next to a creek in the middle of the woods. After the initial WTF, i realize i will probably die from hypothermia in a few minutes (This is mid-October) if i dont make it indoors relatively soon. Im about 10 seconds from knocking on a random person's door and asking for a ride home when i see my friends car and and realize im close to the house of the party. I walk in to have it explained that
1) People have been looking for me all night/thought i got arrested/lost etc
2) I have a horrible gash in the back of my head and need to get stitches
3)I was called multiple times, one of which times i answered the phone, giggled maniacally, and hung up. I lost my phone sometime later
Im still too f*cked up to even feel it so i dont really give a shit until they let me shower and i see how red the water is coming off my head. That in conjunction with the the scratches and cuts all over my hands from thorns and the lost phone ends with the most ridiculous night ive ever had/heard of someone having. Needless to say the experience left me reevaluating my priorities. Ive now been sober almost four months which doesnt sound all that impressive but is one hell of an achievement to me. I know this will most likely be met with skepticism and indifference but i just wanted to share that story because i think its hilarious regardless of whether or not you believe in my lifestyle choices and i want to hear if the rest of NB has any as well
