“American this” “Japanese that”

What other countries have great tv shows, movies, video games, characters, etc?

If the character’s nationality isn’t American or Japanese but still created by American or Japanese people or companies, that doesn’t count. For example, Wolverine is Canadian but property of American company Marvel.

The UK excluded. Not on the US’s and Japan’s level, but it’s credited with Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Sherlock Holmes, and James Bond.

I know people in mu country likes thrillers and stuff and there is some comedy as well that I like but I doubt people from other places not near where I live would be interested.
There are some international ones as well.

Maybe Bollywood is interesting, or Korean dramas.

I'm sure there are lots of movies from different countries that are good, it's just hard to find giant media industries everywhere in the world.

When you said UK is not on US's and Japan's level, I think you meant in production. Those movies you listed are globally popular and have box office surpassing Hollywood blockbuster. Those are just movies; videos games like GTA are British developed too. It's true UK doesn't produce fiction shows as much as the US or Japan, but British work still remains supreme. Don't even let me get started on football.
