Could you put yourself into a genjutsu?

Say you were to cast a genjutsu whilst looking directly into your own eye via a mirror, would you cast a genjutsu on yourself?

EDIT: Genjutsus other than Izanagi.

u mean tsyukomi or whatever and there is no proof either way but it would be a waste of chakra and dangerous as even a second in battle can change things so maybe u can maybe u cant but other then izanagi why would u want to ???

Otherwise the Eternal Tsukuyomi plan that Tobi and Madara were speaking about would be pointless. I doubt that either of them would want to be under their own genjutsu. :shrug:

No, I don't think you can put yourself in genjutsu, besides izanagi. Genjutsu is controlling chakra flow to someone's brain, but how can you do that if your chakra's being agitated by yourself? You can only direct your chakra to use genjutsu if you have control of your chakra, and being under genjutsu means you don't have control of it. One's self-genjutsu would stop as soon as they tried to cast it on themself because they couldn't control their chakra to use the genjutsu any more.
