[Discussion] Could you Kill?

Put into a situation where it were totally legal for you to kill somebody who was trying to kill you or steal from you, would you do it?

I obviously can't say anything unless I was in the situation itself as I would never know until it was actually happening, but i'd like to say that I would. Knowing that it's a bad person I would have to do it, not for any moral 'justice' -just to know how it feels.

Yea, I think they would just have to kill me because I don't think I can ever take someone's life. I just can't imagine it

No, though I would probably try to do something that would cause him Emotional pain. For example, instead of striking judgement on him, why not break his legs or arms to the point where he cannot walk for the rest of his life or use his arms?

It depends.

If the person attacks me with the intent to kill, then I will show them no mercy whatsoever. I'd have no regrets killing them.
If the person only has the intent to steal, then I'll break the arms or fingers. No need to kill them over that, imo.

Most of the time, I would prefer to use non-lethal techniques to subdue attackers, but if I was ever in the situation where I need to kill to survive, then I most probably would.

I don't know what i'd do until actually put into the situation, obviously. But i'd need to feel how it felt, more people have it in them than you may think.
