Could tobi be like the terminator, the reason i say this is because if it's true that tobi is a creation of madaras then it makes sense because tobi kind of seems to be acting on orders from madara uchiha because lets just say that it is true that just before madara uchiha died he used some of his and the 1st hokages dna to create tobi and it's obvious that he did it for a reason why else would he use his battle with hashirama to obtain a portion of his power because if you think about it madara being an uchiha obviously read the stone tablet the sage left behind and found interesting information on how to aquire the rinnegan,meaning getting the powers of the sage and on the tablet it must of had information on the sage himself including the fact that he had the power of the uchiha and senju in one body and was the jinchuriki of the mighty jubi(the 10 tails) which increased his power greatly and if you think about it that way it explains alot of things like for example why madara fought hashirama in order to get his dna which contained all he needed in order to aquire senju abilities which may be a vital ingredient for awakening the rinnegan, and being that madara died he never got the chance to achieve his goal which was to achieve the rinnegan, become host to the jubi which would greatly increase his occular powers and finally with his jubi enhanced dojutsu cast an infinite tsukoyomi on the whole world causing everyone to live under his control and i guess bring peace.
Continuing on from that it does sound fishy because if you think about it why would madara who is an uchiha want peace? Well if you think about it madara wanting peace by awakening the rinnegan, becoming host to the jubi and casting an infinite tsukoyomi on the whole world is dodgey especially when you think about what happened when the sage chose his younger son (senju son) over his older (uchiha son) which angered the elder brother and started the rivaly between uchiha and senju we've heard so much about and is significant in the narutoverse now especially with the prophecised showdown between naruto and sasuke getting closer,and if you think about it sasuke seems to represent all the hate of the uchiha which unfortunately has led him down a dark path and naruto represents the senju because of his inherited will of fire, the guts to never give up and his determination to save his friend from the hate and the darkness and also represents the sage who wanted to achieve peace and i believe the outcome of sasuke and narutos showdown will determine how things turn out for the ninja world.
The other reason why i say that tobi is like the terminator even though it sounds silly is because if you remember before madaras battle with hashirama the uchiha turned against him because if you remember madara and hashirama was supposed to of agreed on a truce between the senju and uchiha they even shook hands but then things changed when just like the younger son of the sage was chosen over the elder son as the sages sucessor which led to the continuos battle between senju and the uchiha from generation to generation hashirama(senju) was chosen over madara(uchiha) to become the leafs first hokage which angered madara to the point where he became obsessed with wanting revenge on the 1st hokage and that obsession turned to hate and so the uchiha became annoyed with madara because they knew that his obsession could lead to the truce between uchiha and senju becoming broken so the uchiha turned against madara which further angered him so he confronted hashirama and the 1st hokage knew that although the uchiha and senju made a truce madara was a threat to that truce and hashirama decided that he needed to deal with madara not knowing that madara was going to use it as an opportunity to get his hands on his power.
Now onto the interesting part, when the legendary battle ended it was fought that hashirama survived and managed to kill madara but little did everyone including the 1st hokage know madara gravely injured but hanging on faked his death and with everyone believing him to be dead madara saw it as an oportunity to vanish and while everyone fought that he was gone forever madara began secretly plotting his revenge from the shadows where he came up with a way to become immortal, Madara gravely injured from his battle knew he was dying but that didn't stop him from plotting his come back so with what he learnt from the tablet he began conducting some experiments with his own and hashiramas dna in his attempt to achieve power like the sage but before he could do that he needed a way to extend his life even if it was temporary and so he began experimenting with his and hashiramas dna to see if his uchiha body was compatible with senju dna and it must have worked because he claims he met nagato uzumaki.
As madara aged and was dying he felt as if his work wasn't done and he needed a way to become immortal and so he began experimenting and managed to create a being that was a fusion of the 2 most powerful clans in one body and with the experiment being a sucess did some tests on zetsu to see what it can do and discovered something amazing about zetsu and even though we don't know what the black half of zetsu can do but we know a few things, we know that zetsu whether its the white half of zetsus ability or the black halfs ability or both can apparently record battles and has been doing so for years, and that it can become part of its surroundings like the ground, a tree or a wall and that the white half by touching someone can become an exact copy of that person but much weaker and isn't able to copy and use kekkei genkai techniques and i believe that the fact the white half of zetsu can create a clone of anyone it touches must have caught madaras attention and saw that zetsu was useful for his plan and so madara used the white half of zetsu to create an exact copy of himself and named it tobi which may or may not be a codename.
This is what i think happened after tobi(aka zetsu clone of madara) was created, i believe that tobi was given certain orders by madara that tobi needed to accomplish in order for madara to come back some time in the future and finally acieve his goals, basically where i get my tobi is like teminator from is that in terminato, sometime in the future there was a war between machines(the teminators) and humans and sarah and her son john conor posed a threat to the terminators and so a terminator was sent from the future to the past on orders to kill sarah and john conor and in one of the terminator films i can't remember which one the terminator decided that instead of killing john and sarah conor which were the orders it was given it developed a mind of it's own and decided to protect john and sarah conor from the terminators that were sent to not only kill the terminator but also john and sarah conor, So there you go that's where i get the tobi is like terminator idea from because if you think about it tobi could possibly be a zetsu clone of madara and the reason why i believe tobi says he is a shell of his former self is because he knows that he is not the original madara and is nowhere near as powerful and wants to be complete but saying that it might not be tobi saying he wants to be complete it might be madara who wants to be complete but then again it might be tobi saying he wants to be complete and what he could mean by that is that because he is a mere clone of the original madara who is way more powerful than he is he wants power possibly more power than madara and to be more feared than madara.
Continuing on from what i believe happened after tobi was created, When we first saw tobi from what we saw he seemed childlike and a bit of a coward because he seemed afraid of confrontation and jutsu wise he hasn't really shown anything that would cause anyone to take him seriously or even fear him but in the anime episode after pain defeats and kills jiraiya we notice a different more serious side to tobi because when he appears to pain and konan he talks to pain for example who was known as being powerful and unbeatable and had the most powerful dojutsu the rinnegan as if he's the akatsuki leader and not pain which shocked the audience because we always thought tobi was a childish weakling with no real abilities and a coward and then we see him change like dr jekyll and mr hyde with 2 different personalities and at some point before kisame joined akatsuki kisame was approached by the 4th mizukage who was being controlled from the shadows and when kisame asked the person in the shadows to reveal himself the person calls himself madara uchiha but it is unknown if it was madara uchiha or tobi(possible zetsu clone of madara) but whoever it was asked kisame to join him and revealed his eye of the moon plan to kisame and it also turned out that akatsuki wasn't started by yahiko(pain) but tobi(possible zetsu clone of madara) and together the akatsuki set out on orders which was fought to be given by pain to capture jichuriki so that their tailed beasts can be extracted and stored inside the gedo mazo statue and later on we find out that tobi(possible zetsu clone of madara) is the real leader of akatsuki working from the shadows.
Now onto the penultimate bit of this long thread as we know tobi(possible zetsu clone of madara) is planning something big and has been doing so for a while and it was revealed that the person behind the ninetails attack on the leaf the day naruto was born was tobi who somehow found out that kushina(narutos mum and 2nd jinchuriki to kurama) was pregnant and with that knowledge knew that not only would kushina be vulnerable but also that the seal would be weaker due to the pregnancy and so needed a diversion in order to kidnap kushina and extract the nine tails from her and so he got his hands on baby naruto and threatened to harm naruto unless kushina and minato allowed him to have kurama and minato(narutos dad and 4th hokage) knew he had to act fast because the masked man(tobi who could possibly be a zetsu clone of madara) posed a threat to the village and so using his speed within a blink of an eye got naruto back from tobi's clutches and tobi praised him before going attempting to kill naruto with explosive tags on his blanket which tobi set off just as minato removed the blanket and got himself and naruto to safety just as the room/building blew up then minato who knew it was a diversion used to kidnap kushina went and confronted tobi, had a brief battle during which the ninetails who was extracted from kushina was under tobi's control attacked the village while shinobi attacked it trying to force it out of the village and tobi revealed him self to minato as madara uchiha to which minato asked him how could it be possible because he was supposed to be dead to which tobi replied ("i don't know about that!") and as tobi and minato attacked each other minato placed a contract seal on him taking away his control of the kyubi then using advantage of tobis ability where he can make himself intangible when he's attacked and materialise when he counterattacks threw a special kunai at him deleberatley knowing tobi would become intangible to avoid being hit and as the kunai came out through tobi teleported to it using the flying thundergod technique slammed him to the ground with a rasengan and as tobi retreated he revealed to minato that he will return and when he does the kyubi and the world will be his and with that knowledge minato decided to seal half of the ninetails chakra in naruto using the reaperdeath seal and as he did that he came to a conclusion that the masked man will pose a threat to the world and be a harbinger of disaster and that the only one who can stop him will be naruto then proceded to use the reaper death seal to seal the other half of the kyubis chakra in himself, ending with both his and his wife kusinas life being sacrificed for the sake of naruto and the village and with that plus other disasters like wars etc that tobi has caused even if tobi is a zetsu clone of madara it is clear that he poses a serious threat to the ninja world and all what tobi has done including the kyubis attack on konoha might be all part of madaras plan to come back and achieve his sinister goals.
Finally onto the last bit of this thread as we know tobi(possible zetsu clone of madara) has declared the 4th ninja war on the ninja world for refusing to let him have naruto and killerbee, taken sasuke under his wing manipulating sasukes hate for what happened to his clan and itachi forcing him to embrace the darkness which could possibly lead to sasuke awakening the rinnegan which is probably what tobi wants being that he's planning on getting sasuke to sync with the gedo mazo statue for a yet unknown reason, formed an alliance with kabuto who is willing to give tobi edo tenseis which include former akatsuki members, former jincurikis,previous kages and to tobis shock madara uchiha etc and during his preparation for war tobi confronted konan in order to find out where nagatos body is leading to a battle between konan and tobi which led to konans death and tobi losing an arm and part of his mask then later on you see him with a new outfit, a new mask which resembles a rinnegan which has 2 eye holes and last but not least a sharingan in his right socket and a rinnegan in his left and revealed his army of upgraded white zetsu and a hashirama plant created from the 1sts dna and left for war and during the war he was confronted by killerbee and naruto, tobi used the revived jinchurikis to attack them then turned the five previous jinchuriks into their tailed beasts forms and when naruto asked tobi who is he because his clone and the kages were fighting the real madara tobi replied by saying that he is no one to which naruto replied by saying that he will tear his mask off and on the battlefield where gaaras fourth division was and the real madara uchiha was summoned and asked muu who was used as a medium for kabuto to communicate through who summoned him because apparently he was expecting to be resurrected by nagato using gedo art of rinne rebirth and was dissapointed when he found out he was ressurected through the edo tensei technique and asked what's going on because he noticed that all the shinobi were wearing the joint army headbands and was suprised and glad when he found out that a war is going on and seemed annoyed that tobi(possibly a zetsu clone of madara) isn't quite doing things according to plan but apparently both tobi and madara have more or less the same goals for example the infinite tsukoyomi technique and the fact that they more or less have the same goals and tobi seems to not only know everything about madara but also about madaras battle with hashirama, know about every or nearly every jutsu just like madara i guess, have the same ideals as madara, the same hate towards senju,they've both apparently met nagato, they both were expecting nagato to use gedo art of rinne rebirth for them and they both know about the sage and that's what leads me to the conclusion that tobi is a zetsu clone of madara but much weaker with madaras memories which i guess explains why for a while tobi had everyone believe he's madara because even though he's a clone and was called tobi because he has madaras memories he told people that he was madara uchiha and now he knows that the real madara has been resurrected he calls himself no one probably because he was created as part of madaras experiment and not only wants to be either as powerful as madara or more powerful but also an identity and probably for some strange reason even though he might be a zetsu clone of madara uchiha he wants his own identity, to be feared and what he probably means by when he says he's a shell of his former self is because he knows he's a clone but might not be ready to accept it and he wants to be complete instead of a shell of what he used to be and is probably facing an identity crisis because one minute he's tobi and nobody fears him the he's madara and everyone is panicking because they believe they're up against one of the most legendary and most powerful ninjas and now that the real madara has been resurrected tobi has gone from being somebody to being as he says a nobody(just a clone and an empty shell of his former self) and he doesn't want to be following orders from someone who is clearly more powerful than him and sees him as a mere experiment used to play fetch the jincuriki and keep the name madara alive. So there's my theory, i hope you may find this interesting and if not i apologise but i was trying to make sense of something that in the manga seems a bit confusing but anyway i hope that those who read this thread find this interesting because of all the threads i've made about tobi this one seems the bestso far.
