I've heard many theories talking about the possibility of the mystery man being the same phenomenon that Hashirama saw back in the battle at VOTE against Madara:
If this is the case and this man really did save Madara and allowed him to carry on his destructive and dark path towards Tsuki no Me then the same could happen to Sasuke. But not without a twist. If he saved Madara then it's most likely that this shadow has evil intentions which Karin confirmed in the last chapter. It's a possibility that this man may provoke some ill-mannered behaviour from Sasuke towards Konoha. I can't see them fighting simply over the Bijuus.
Also it's kind of strange that Kishi decided to have Sasuke slowly dying away from the alliance on the battlefield and have the only person in sight with him as Tobirama. I don't think it's a parallel that Naruto now has people attempting to save him and Sasuke is dying alone but rather that this man may take Sasuke away from the battlefield so that none of the alliance notices and save but manipulate him.
Of course this is merely all speculation so don't flame me for this. Opinions?
