He's saying that one day they will be rejoined, and with the Juubi being 50% complete already, is this gap closing?

Could it be that with the Juubi having Yin-Yang Release, means it will somehow transfer Gyūki and Kurama automatically. once it gets even closer to being completed?

It's too late the Juubi is already in play, and all Obito & Madara wants to do is kill them now. So I don't believe he'll capture either of them now.

I don't necessarily believe it's meaning that the gap is closing. It means that they will one day find someone who will be able to take his place and make friends with every one of them and show them how to do good just like he did in order to create peace in the world. Naruto right now for example wears a cloak that resembles the So6p as well as the two spiked hairs that resemble horns. Kurama told Naruto he'd rather be controlled by Him rather than madara. But if you read further, So6P was the only one Kurama ever felt like he was his father. But Naruto is further starting to become like him because he started making friends with more tailed beasts and he is serious about treating them all like an individual. For example when son goku laughed at Naruto for trying to be friends with him. But Naruto was serious. Even Son couldn't believe it. I think it's more of Naruto would gain the friendship of all the tailed beasts and seal the ten tails away again, just like so6p did.

There could be different interpretations from "becoming one"

One is being united to be part of Juubi complete form
Two is being united to be part of the alliance and so6p

Both interpretations have been shown to start happening as Juubi has a piece of all the bijuu.
And when Naruto met all the jinchuurikis having giving them all a bit of power.

Both aspects are still incomplete as the juubi still needs the 8 and 9 tails power
While Naruto still needs the one tails

I doubt it, extracting the tailed beasts would leave Naruto dead or pretty dang close. (Kushina was left barely alive after the extraction).
