Naruto was impugned with kotoamatsuki by Itachi with the directive to "protect the leaf." The koto responds to any mangekyou sharingan that it comes in contact with. With that being said the war could have ended two ways. A.) if Tobi/Obito used his mangekyou when he attacked Naruto after the kage summit he would have been cough in koto and would have been forced to protect the leaf. B.) If Naruto entered the war earlier he could have caught Madara in koto
(assuming he cant break it which all evidence would suggest he cant) and the war would end in a flash. So did the kages screw up badly by keeping Naruto hidden? Just looking for some input.

Other way it could have been avoided: When kisame fought bee, he hadn't replaced himself with a zetsu, and obito had kamui'd naruto when they met in the land of iron.
