All Sasuke would need to do is set his sword somewhere either prior or during the attack and then Gai is punching a sword when Sasuke pulls his switcharoo. His teleportation seems to work very well and damn near instant as long as he's within the range of his desired location. His teleportation is only limited to his reflexes so as long as Sasuke is prepared/ready, he can dodge this.
