Though Sakura lacks the feats (admittedly) she is in fact the strongest healer around and has surpassed Tsunade so if you apply that logic the answer would lean more too yes. OT: Sakura has feats in genetics, Epidemiology, Pathology so it's possible. That would've been a great feat for Sakura but Kishi cares not...

During his time in Akatsuki he had enough time to contact various doctors and healers, he also could've tracked down Tsunade and force her with Genjutsu to heal him, but he didn't, so it must've been something incurable.

And considering that Sakura still hasn't surpassed Tsunade, it's more than probable she couldn't do shti.

i tell you why kishi killed itachi :

its becuz itachi knew about tobi's true ID to be tobidara (th 2nd Madara)

Logically if itachi stayed alive till meeting edoMadara he would've exposed tobi's true ID to be tobidara....

kisame also died for same reason...
