Could Obito have taken Rinnegan from Pain if he lived?

If Pain didn't suicide and instead chose to live on with his girl Konan, could Obito have still taken the Rinnegan from them? 6PoP + Konan would have been very difficult to deal with, and Obito would not have been able to Rinne Tensei Madara as planned. Although that's moot since Kabuto used ET on him anyway.

Obito had info on Nagato,he had no reason to take on the paths.
Nagato was a cripple,Obito warps him,lets him rot(he didnt have much to live anyways,the Gedo kept him alive) and takes his eyes.

Itachi got him so maybe obito would have done it too but gonna be hard fighting both . it's madara's rinnegan was given to nagato so he will have it . maybe nagato would have fight along with naruto .

Even in he's weak state nagato had sh1tloads of chakra, he still handled 6 bodies and sparred with naruto and used CT, the reason obito wait till nagato died, he knew he couldnt get those eyes with force, and that's an fact.

That was because Konan had loooads of prep time, with no prep, Obito would've roflstomped.

Yeah but I'm talking about after Nagato decided to fight for Naruto's Ninja Way. Lets say he decided to help Naruto from now on, but didn't do the Rinne Tensei and just went back to village of rain with Konan and made 6 new paths of pain. Could Obito have handled these two?

Nagata was under the rule of Obito/Tobi I would assume for a reason. That being, Nagato knew Obito was greater than himself, espcially since Obito knew Pain's secret, the secret being attack the crippled Nagato and not bother wasting his time with the 6PoP

High difficulty, he would be able to take them out.

If he really wanted to kill them, he would of used more uchiha kinjustu, mokuton, or some ridukou techniques to kill them
