Amaterastsu is completely different than a fire ball jutsu but the only resemblance is that they are both fire. Amateratsu is a jutsu from his MS and it appears wherever he looks. Fire Ball jutsu comes out from his mouth after making the proper hand signs.

Amatersu is instant, but can you hit a target you can't see?

Don't know why people say BM naruto=EMS sasuke... The only difference between MS and EMS is that the user doesn't go blind. There's no increase in chakra and no new abilities. Itachi did more with MS than sasuke could with EMS.
SM naruto=MS sasuke=EMS sasuke... Whatever powerup sasuke gets while he's with Orochimaru will make him equal to BM naurto. I hope sasuke gets the Rinnegan before seeing naruto again.
