If Naruto didn't stop training and get rusty in his skills. Then decided he wanted to spar to a full extent with Sasuke every now and then, to see how far they can take their powers in order to be ready for future potential enemies to the the peace they established. Could they over time reach the level to destroy a planet? If not the case then to help amp them up some more they get non-canon equipment and feats from movies, games, and fillers will it be enough to put them on that level then.

with how stupid the power scaling got in the movies, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up that way

Yes, but only if they keep training and pushing each other to their limit, however two conditions:

1) It would require both of them as each of them would destroy only half of planet
2) It wouldn't be possible planet busting rather chain of reaction which led to planet busting but digging powerfull blast in core of planet.

After all JJ Hagoromo reshaped whole planet using nunoboko sword and creation energy amount > destruction energy amount.

Well, naruto can gather all the natural energy on the surface of the planet, if he had enough time to prep and with Sasukes help, maybe...

Naruto maybe can if he absorb all nature energy around planet and concentrate the attack on earth or its core.

For Sasuke, I dont think he have capable fire power.

Anything is possibly specially considering the fact the manga will still continue.

The Earth survived a collision with a planet the size of Mars and was left intact. That's how we got the moon. It also survived the asteroid and caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. So here's a little math:

Asteroid that killed Dinosaurs = 100 teratons of explosive force.

A kiloton is 1,000 pounds of TNT.
A megaton is 1,000 kilotons.
A gigaton is 1,000 megatons.
A teraton is 1,000 gigatons.

So the explosion that killed the dinosaurs was the equivalent of 100,000,000,000,000 tons of TNT explosives. The largest blast ever set off was the Tsar Bomb which was 57 megatons or 57,000,000 tons of TNT.

Naruto and Sasuke can't even produce an explosion like the Tsar Bomb and the Earth survived an explosion that makes the Tsar Bomb look like a spark so the answer to your question is no. This is all assuming the Earth in the manga is equivalent to our own.

As for exactly how much power it would take to literally turn the planet to space rocks and destroy it completely, 110 quadrillion megatons. That's 1,000,000 tons of TNT times 110 quadrillion.

Sasuke's chidori in the last destroyed a parge part of a meteor. His PS Chidori would have a much higher DC at that age, not to mention Indra's arrow. Then account for Naruto's massive firepower which is at least equals with Sasuke's. Combine them and I think they can reach moon level, especially since a weaker Toneri cut the moon with golen reincarnation wheel or whatever it's called.

Then there's the fact that the moon itself is just a giant Chibaku Tensei from Hagomoro.
So I can see them being able to destroy a moon, but not even close to the size of their planet which should logically be similar to Earth's size since the level of gravity seem to be the same in NV as on earth.

huh? The tsar bomb only produced a fireball only 8 kilometers in diameter, that's nothing compared to the bijuudama that even BM Naruto could fire let alone the juubi, RSM Naruto, or the things we've seen at VoTe.

I agree they aint busting a planet but saying they can't produce a blast stronger than the Tsur Bombs is bullshit. You're saying people in the Naruto verse aren't higher than city level.....

Put the weed down nigg-a. The Tsar Bomb is merely 50 megatons (a feat that's laughable for someone of War Arc Sakura's level...much less anyone above her).
