Nagato is the one who made the seal on the Akatsuki hideout I think. Or maybe it was Sasori.
Either way, could he beat her this way? An exact replica of Kaguya would be created, and then both would simultaneously kill each other with exactly even power.

Another question: What would have happened if Gai had gone into 8th gate? Would the gai replica go into the 8th gate as well?

Im not sure what that technique is or does, if it as others say creates an exact copy then he would still die being caught in the crossfire irregardless of flight and preta path.
