Could Kakashi have ended this war more earlier than It should have been?

If Obito hadn't countered Kakashi's attempt to drag GM into Kamui, Would Kakashi had succeeded in saving the life of nevi and many others by putting an end to this war? Or would the Kamui have not worked for some reason? Would be weird though, having GM in your Kamui Dimension, the next you suck some one into their, they're waiting and suddenly that statue suddenly pops up.

Kakashi could have plucked the head off from GM... If that would result in something useful, then Yes he would have ended it earlier but at great cost...
