Not just that it's also due to the fact that he may not have had much intel on Itachi's MS abilities and he wouldnt even have any way to break through Tsukoyomi if he was trapped in it.

Look at both of there feats an how can they counter eachother an you get your answer. People on NB is terrible at judging smh. I'm not sure on Jiraiya abilities but what I on what think he can do. He may actually beat Itachi not tie. In reality what Itachi and Kisame said wa pure horse sh*t PnJ because together they could beat him or bringing more akatsuki members would surely beat him. How do they know they would lose when they never fought him? Makes no sense, I think Kisame vs Jiraiya is a close fight asuming Kisame don't have fusion or waterdome back then otherwise Kisame could beat him tbh.

If you have an idea as to why Jiraiya would have won at this time....please tell it. Because I myself am not really sure what I believe about this statement. Though I guess I am biased towards Jiraiya in most situations I gotta say I just don't see him winning this because Itachi is so OP.
