No he can't. Since you said Pein, you must mean Nagato controlling the 6 Paths. The 6 Paths have share vision which they can use to attack in a unison or evade enemy's attacks that they normally can't see. We also have to look at facts such as Itachi doesn't what Nagato or Pein can do, Edo Itachi asked Naruto about what Nagato can do so alive Itachi has no info on Nagato's jutsus. Itachi's sickness can kill Itachi if he pushes himself, he suffers painfull side effects from using MS on top of his illness, he has a low chakra reserve, MS jutsus is chakra taxing.

Pein will probably send the summoning path out first like against Jiraiya, this will cause Itachi to use either Amaterasu or Susanoo to take care of them; especially the multiplying dog. Susanoo does the most damage to Itachi from its side effect, his illness, and the amount of chakra it uses as shown when he cough up blood against Sasuke. Deva path pushed 3 giant toads (about the same size as a Bijuu) miles away breaking their bones, doing it to 1 Susanoo shouldn't be that hard. Yata mirror isn't stopping Deva path since he can actually target Susanoo and not shot any blast. Deva path can also send Totsuka and/or Yata mirror miles away as well.

Itachi wouldn't know about Deva path 5 sec interval, look at what happened to Kakashi who had more chakra than Itachi even after getting backup mid fight all to find out how Deva path abilities work. In Jiraiya's case, he actually has a large chakra reserve, have giant summons to fight the summons of Pein, had the right skills and strategy to take down 3 Peins at once but when that 4th Pein came he lost an arm then got dominated against all 6.

Pain was referring to that specific scenario. Only in that scenario could Jiraiya have won, because if Jiraiya had known his secret and had used Frog Song he would've won, because Pain hadn't expected Jiraiya to use a Genjutsu in the first place.

It's laughable that Itachi could even win when Pain was directly stated as the most powerful member of the entire Akatsuki.

Especially since Itachi's strongest and most used arsenal, Visual Genjutsu is useless against Pain considering Databook stated that Nagato is completely immune to Visual Genjutsu thanks to the Rinnegan.
