no. ka on fukgaku won't change the clans resentment, and him having an 180 on ideals would raise suspicions about foul play. ka may be untraceable by the victim but others that can see chakra flow(i e everyone with a sharingan in the clan) would see that he's under a genjutsu.

But what is canon is that despite having KA, Shisui couldn't stop Danzo from taking his one eye(no matter what dirty methods he used) and that Itachi being all wise and stuff played right into Tobi and Danzo's hands.

Even minato who was another genius, thought obito was madara so I dont think its a lack of intellect in itachi's part. Obito helping itachi was not canon, I believe? Since itachi was lying to Sasuke about getting help from obito.
