It wasn't the ribcage. It had to have been the v2/v3, as that is more consistent with Susanoo's other tanking feats in the manga.

OT: Itachi wins.

But the rib cage is durable enough to tank powerful attacks like the Liger Bomb,it should've been more than enough to survive Kirin.

Not to mention forming a complete Susanoo takes some time,which is something Itachi didn't have as he had to act in a split second.

No. Itachi is actually my fave uchiha. He just doesnt stand up to Ay. His Susano'o isnt as strong as sasukes or madaras. He has regular MS. Chakra strain and bleeding. So his moves could be read. He'll burn out of chakra fast. He's fast but he cant keep up with Ay raiton armor level 2.

His totsuka blade is his most dangerous weapon. Thats if it hits.

No, Totsuka blade isn't even needed for the fight.

I didn't mention characters since it's not needed if one follows the series. However, Deidara and Orochimaru come to mind immediately.
