Could Guy have beaten Itachi and Kisame?

I was scanning over the Manga and noticed that with the fight between Kakashi and Itachi in part 1 with Kurenai and Asuma, Guy stepped in with Kakashi fainted. And Guy came up with the tactic of not looking Itachi in the eye but looking at the reflection of the water, and so my question is could Guy have taken him? Him using the Seventh gate possibly? And then Kisame is also there giving Itachi and Kisame the advantage 2 to 1. So do you think that Guy could have possibly won? or would he have been alliterated. Tell me you're thoughts cause I was curious.

Gai is quiet powerful indeed , but taking on both would not work out his way , im pretty sure he can kill kisame , itachi already knows about gai and his abilities...kisame to but he cant do nothing about it

I don't think Gai can take on Itachi and Kisame at the same time. It's within the realm of possibility that Gai could beat Itachi one on one given his "look at the feet" technique.

He didn't wanted to take them out, but to contain them until Anbu came to help. If the question is to know if he would have succeeded in this mission, then i say yes. Itachi was weakened at that moment because of the tsukuyomi. I don't know how strong Kisame was at that moment, but i believe Gai could at least contain his power with gates
