Could Gai have killed Lord Madara?

Do you think Gai would have killed Madara if he took off his weights? Madara did state that Gai almost Killed him with the weights on.

Itachi can cast genjutsu with his fingers, so it would be logical to assume he can cast it with his toes too. Gai looks at Itachi's feet thinking he's safe and gets trapped in an illusion gg.

Naah, I don't think one would restrict himself in war, and the weights won't really matter to guy if he goes 8 gates assuming he had them on, they won't hinder him in anyway to make a difference, but I don't think he went to war with them, it's not logical
