Could Gaara beat Itachi?

If Gaara can't beat deidara...he can't beat Itachi.

thats just bad match ups , i actually think garra could win due to certain situations i have him winning at least 5/10 times even more, anyone feel free to disagree but it goes both ways too itachi is a genious shinobi

And guys, to be honest, I don't know why people are bringing up the desert. Gaara got owned by Deidera... IN THE DESERT. That has nothing to do with it.

I don't think Gaara could pull this off he's extremely powerful but Itachi is just on another level compared to him.

It's been stated that Gaara can make more sand from the ground using the sand in his gourd.
I know it was a while ago but remember his fight with Kimimaru, that sand tsunami 0_0

well if u say that gaara's fight against deidara wasn't fair we might also say that deidara was also at a very big disadvantage because he was short on molding clay (and clay is his only way of attacking)

Gaara could have done better at that fight, but he went down like a *****. I'll have to say though that the anime episodes of the gaara vs deidara fight were pretty cool.

if you remember, he even lost to deidara. And he still had the ichibi back then.

Even if the battle was in the desert, itachi can still figure out a way against Gaara. Plus the fact that gaara has gone soft these days, no more murderous intent in his eyes and all that hatred thing.

Smh, 90% of you aren't even reading the thread I bet... I'd say Gaara wins in desert with extremely high difficulty. Itachi gives him a run for his money due to his vast and versatile arsenal.

The murderous intent was replaced with actual skill and technique and the only possible defense against being completely surrounded by sand would be susanoo from te start and even then, he could completely cave the ground in from under him, as shown with kimimaru.

please.. Raikage, Gaara & all the otheres there were there all attacked Sasuke in the same time, and no scratch, Susano pops out and make them pee their pants Itachi could easily take down gaara

unlimited sand does not equal unlimited chakra... just a convenience really. i think itachi would beat gaara since he has already proven that his MS techs can take down super strong foes, especially susanoo, unless sand can appear through susanoo Gaara has no chance against the yata mirror and if the totska blade can go through sand then gaara is done for. i say that it might go through sand since its made from pure spirit energy and really isnt physical.

on the otherhand gaara has many sand techs but is really limited to just that. Even tho we see him fight a lot he hasnt shown the ability to use anything but his sand and he will need more techs to even match up to itachi. Sand wouldnt be enough to get though his susanoo

gaara won the whole fight vs deidara... he was standing over his corpse the victor..

Kishi had to add storyline to help naruto grow and show the bond between sand / leaf after the time skip.

Magically a few little beasties blew up on his back etc etc etc..

That's why it was purely plot no jutsu :shrug: so much sand.... huge sand wave in the sky and it barely hit Deidara (who were so quick lol)

Yet Sasuke could reach him ........ because Deidara didn't fly as fast as he was when he fought Gaara -.-

I am not an Itachi fan boy, but i can say that gaara and itachi are of completely different leagues. Besides, gaara is a good boy now, and doesn't have the murderous intent and hatred crap that he used to..
