In fact Itachi is a master of Genjutsu and is using his illusion in the very beginning of the fight; a Sannin, an Akatsuki and Kakashi failed in front of them, largely while being aware that the Sharingan possesses this kind of ability, just like a strong Genjutsu user like Shee was trapped into the Sharingans Genjutsu while being aware of its powers and A, who looked into Madaras Sharingan and was being paralyzed by it through knowing its powers. So why is Gaara the exception? Can you back up your claims with arguments? No you can't do anything but trolling.

In the desert, Gaara is very dangerous, but lots of people can avoid the sand underneath, like Madara, Muu, Oonoki etc. Itachi can't fly and his Susanoo has no underneath. obviously he can get pulled under. But if anyone flies against Itachi they will just be one shotted by Amaterasu
