Could anyone else but Gai release the gates?

It's a jutsu, so why can't anyone else also learn it? Gai learned it to Rock Lee. So in theory Naruto could use ut, without dying.

Everyone have gates but it requires dedication to open them. It is like...having 2 meters long hair. In theory anyone (who lives long enough) can accomplish that but few actually attempt to do so.

Usage of gates is kinjutsu so it is not much preferred. And it is painful, it would be pretty rare for a child to want to learn something which can tear his/her muscles and bones up while they have other options to be stronger.
