Could any of the New Generation hold their own if they were in Part 1 Chunin Exams?

Shinki, Mitsuki, Sarada and Shikadai definitely stand a chance.

Boruto can too if he has the Kote, but without it, I don't think he'd get far.

Yea , they could hold their own. People like Shinki and Mitsuki are they only ones who can really put up a fight in the finals. Mitsuki was about to use SM in the latest ep , pretty sure if he faced Rock Lee , CE2 Sasuke , Neji or Gaara he'd be forced to go full SM as his base would get him killed. The new gen would wipe out every other ninja bar Naruto but would lose to anyone Kishi tagged as a "Monster" back then.

1T Sarada would do well , but even someone of weighted Lee's caliber in base or w/1st Gate , should be able to neg her like he did 2T Sasuke who by that time already had more training than Sarada and a more mature/acute Sharingan. Heck base Lee without weights beats everyone from the new gen bar SM Mitsuki. I dont see the new gen doing well in the finals unless they fight Temari/Kankuro/Shino/Shikamru..

Not disappear, but depleted. He didn't tap into his Bijuu chakra, so no way he should still be up and running after him opening up all 5 gates. The hits that he had given Gaara specifically limited his chakra flow to the point where he should've been done and out.

He wasn't fully exposed because he was the main Chunin Exam antagonist and since he was Shikaku's host, it would have made sense for him to fight with Naruto and learn from him.

Why would it be depleted in the first place? Why would he have needed to tap into bijuu chakra? Hits don't deplete the chakra of the receiver. The only chakra Gaara mostly expended in that fight was the one he used to keep his armor up. Lee didn't really give him a chance to perform chakra moves.

The bold is even more confusing and the rest of that post makes it like you are suggesting Lee should have beaten Gaara which is weird to me when its shown that for all of Lee's fancy stuff with the gates, he never connected with Gaara's real body once.
