The truth might cause some(actually many) problems in some situations, and that makes it look as if the truth was bad in some cases. However, we can't change reality. Reality is one for everyone, and the only way to fully understand it is by the truth.
When you tell a lie, you might be even wanting to protect a person, but you're hiding reality. However, as you can't change it, the one to whom you told the lie will eventually face it, and then, even bigger problems will rise.

Facing reality, facing the truth is not always easy. Most of the times, it is hard, to be fair. However, we have to face reality at some point.
