I thought up of a theory a little while ago, and I think Law, Vergo and this Cora-san(Corazon) are all connected. Now, how so? Well, we already know Law and this Corazon are connected as Law thought of her(I'll explain why I choose to call Cora a her in a bit) when he was shot by Doffy. Now, I think Vergo is also connected to Corazon.

It was mentioned by Tashigi in the Punk Hazard arc(unfortunately I don't remember what chapter or page) that Vergo had a sister who was sick and he would constantly visit her. Now, while it's reasonable to assume that this is a fabricated story, I think it is fully possible that he does indeed have a sick sister. And I think this sick sister is Corazon.

I think years ago, Doffy met Vergo, and being the expert manipulator that he is, plotted to get Corazon sick. Using a poison made from Caesar Clown, who has no problem ****ing around with kids obviously, and neither does Doffy, he got Corazon sick. Doffy then used the story of how Caesar purified Punk Hazard to convince Vergo that if he joined him and worked under him, Doffy would have a cure manufactured from Caesar for Corazon, while giving Vergo small doses to give to her to keep her alive, but not fully heal her. This is why Vergo is so closely and devotedly loyal to Doffy, it's all for the sake of his dear sister. I think Vergo also grew to be attached to Doffy because of the promise of the cure, similar to how Kimmimaro was so attached to Orochimaru and was so defensive of him.

This is where Law comes in. I think about ten years ago, Law met and got very close to Corazon. I'm not completely decided on whether he is or was in love with her, of it was just a platonic but very close friendship. He caught wind of Doffy's poisoning her, and outraged, vowed to kill Doffy for it. Law then went on to try to convince Vergo of Doffy's poisoning of Corazon, but Vergo became enraged at the notion of such a brat getting so close to her and accusing Doffy of poisoning her, which is why Vergo beat the shit out of Law. Vergo let Law live because he was so close to Corazon. Realizing that he would get no help from Vergo, it was then Law decided he'd become a doctor, and cure Corazon himself while Kaido kills Doffy.

I think Doffy will reveal to Law during their scuffle and the explanation of Corazon that Vergo was thinking of her before he died, maybe Doffy or Vergo even mentioned her but Oda didn't reveal to us then for the sake of saving the surprise.

A very interesting theory. Quite possible too. Though I can't say I'm a believer cause rereading the Punk Hazard arc, it seemed as if Caesar didn't really care much for Vergo or almost seemed as if him and Vergo had no true personal relationship with one another. To me, they just seemed like associates who worked for Doffy. Not to mention that Doffy seemed like he actually cared about Vergo. Then again, Doffy is one deceptive motherf***er. Like you pretty much said, Joker has no problem with screwing with a person, child or not, just look at the havoc he's unleashing on Dressrosa again. The fact that he's an ex-Celestial Dragon is further proof of his twisted nature IMO so you could be spot on. This theory does well tie in the past between Vergo and Law too. Vergo doesn't seem like the type to get outraged but an action like that could very well serve as an incentive since he seems to think highly of Doffy.

You could be right though, your theory does well at tying together all the little pieces and explaining why someone like Law who has such a laid back personality so desperately wants revenge on Doffy to where he is willing to give up his own life. Never thought my boy would do something like that when he first showed up. Hopefully Oda discusses this in the confrontation, I think it'll probably he brought up once again within the next 5 chapters when Law has his final confrontation against Doffy.

I got a question for you though: Why do you think Doffy cared so much about Law and what is his relevance to the heart chair? I'm sure you remember that Doffy said he thought of Law like a little brother and even wanted to share a drink with him now that he was all grown up. It seems as if Doffy and Law had a real personal relationship at some point. I think Baby 5 even mentioned that Doffy reserved the heart seat for Law. So something tells me that the heart seat, Cora, Law and Doffy are all tied together. Vergo may be involved too but I feel like the heart seat is a missing link here. Just who was the past holder of that seat?

Edit: Damn, my response was a lot longer than I wanted it to be... My Law fanboy side is coming out :mad:_@:

No clue. Could be a further connection to Cora. I don't really know for right now.

Really like this theory but two problems.... San at the end of a name usually implies a major age difference and Corazon was likely the heart seat holder due to her or his name being the only one in manga so far to mean heart and as it follows the trend between seat holders and their names.
Trebol -> Club
Dynamite -> Diamond
Pika -> Spade

Nice theory ! This also explains why Vergo had beaten up Law back when he was still weak-sauce.

I like this and i actually see this happening.

But it seems like Corazon is most likely the previous Heart seat holder and san is used when speaking to someone much older. This whole thing about Vergo having a sister and her being sick is kinda shady to me. I think he made that up so that the marines would let him go to Dressrosa every now and then. I think if Vergo really had a sister it was someone else.

I like this theory though and hopefully im wrong but can you post some scans where Vergo's sister is talked about?
